I just got off of the phone with NVC. They told me that my I-129F was sent to the Embassy in Buenos Aires on Friday 06 June. kicking.gif
But, when I checked the DHL website, there has not been any shipments to Buenos Aires yet. crying.gif
I will just keep checking. Maybe it will be shipped today.

Loolinette,

I did see that the package that went to Paris, France on Friday is with the delivery driver to be delivered to the Embassy today. good.gif

Hey!

Yours are being really fast... mine, as of Friday, no news. I am not even trying to call them today - I will only be more disapointed. Time is going by and I am stuck.

I wish you the best of luck and a speedy DHL time! kicking.gif

Yes Steve ! I saw that today, i'm so excited kicking.gif I'm sure urs will be shipped today !
Renatchi, i wouldn't worry yet, if u look at timelines it typically takes an embassy 1-2 weeks before they send u packet 3. I'm gonna wait 1 week then call them...

Dumb question now... does the embassy schedule the K3 interview AFTER you send packet 3 or as soon as they receive the K3 from NVC?

It depends on the Embassy, they all do it differently. In Buenos Aires, they schedule the interview when they receive the packet 3 back. But I have heard that others will send you the packet 3 with the interview date.

Who wants to bet that the Embassy I belong will only schedule an interview date after I send packet 3?!

Oh, but wait! I have heard about a lot o brazilian girls that never received their packet 3 but still got their interview date way way way before!

Does anyone know about Rio?!

I am sooo excited!

I didn't receive anything from the Consulate! I called them, the lady confirmed she had my case. Then she scheduled my interview over the phone right at that moment. I even asked if there was not an interview date available before that, and she laughed and said: No, sweety, I am sorry. August 19th is the first available date, I am very sorry!

Buaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah crying.gif

She asked me to confirm my address, I did, she said: we will be sending the instructions to that address soon, ok?! Don't worry!

I said: Fine! But I will worry! lol

That was it!

I mean, the lady only scheduled my interview today because I asked her to! Otherwise my interview date would be even later!

Really?!

In Rio you can call from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. That's when they are open for people and it's for free!

Why are the embassys so different?

The Embassy in Buenos Aires is the same way. You have to pay to make a call. And then they are only people that answer phones, They really do not have information.

Also, I don't think they schedule the interview until after you send back the packet 3. But when they receive our paperwork, I will call them and see if I can schedule the interview.

Loolinette,

you are going to receive your interview date really soon! I know for a fact it will be before September! We were approved so fast, don't worry!

I find it funny, it took more waiting for the interview itself than to approve our forms! lol Go figure?!

Really?! I guess I am lucky then. Here it is very hard to talk to someone at the Embassy but it's for free. I mean, I was on the phone yesterday for 45 minutes before I could talk to anyone. So.... But we speak directly to the people who can really assist you and know something. THAT's very good. kicking.gif

The lady at the embassy said she would schedule my interview right at that moment and asked me to confirm my addess. She said: "Is XXXX your address?" I completed: "Apartment # XX, São Paulo, Brazil". She just said: "Ok sweety, interview scheduled on August 19th an I will be sending you packet 3 right away. Good luck!"

She was really nice, the lady. innocent.gif

I hope you both can have your interview date before sending packet 3. I really think you should try to send them an email and ask that. I wouldn't hurt. headbonk.gif

Steve Y Jessica
As soon as my paperwork is in Buenos Aires, I will call and ask if I can schedule the interview. But I think that I am lucky with the Buenos Aires embassy because I have heard that they schedule the interview within 30 days.

And I think that that is because they do not have as many visa petitions. If you look at the people here on VJ, I am the only one currently going through Argentina. But there are lots of people going through Brazil. So if we can get our packet 3 returned as soon as we receive it, I think that we could get an interview around the end of July. And I also hope that I can have the NVC process done on the I-130 by then.

You go to https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx You need to call NVC and get the IIN, Invoice ID number, Then you can se if it is billed, and pay online.

You guys,

I need some advice... mellow.gif

Rio has already scheduled my interview, right? I didn't even had to send them packet 3 for that. The lady at the Embassy said that they would be sending a packet 3 to me at home and that I would probably get it in a couple of weeks. ClockWatch2.gif

Thing is, a lot of people NEVER got their packet 3, or when they got it, it happened a couple of days before the interview. So I was thinking: should I send them the DS 2001, DS 230 - part I, copy of my passport and picture already? I mean, send the documents from packet 3 ahead of time, before even receiving the "actual" packet 3?

Is every packet 3 the same, or is it different in each case?

I am afraid that they will get cranky about me not sending these documents or anulle my interview because I didn't send the documents.. huh.gif

OK Renatchi, Now you are acting like my wife again. Worrying about something before there is anything to worry about. I would say, just finish getting all of your paperwork together and take care of your medical so that everything is ready. You have around 8 weeks before the interview. wait a few weeks and if you have not received anything then call the embassy and ask them what you should do. For now just relax and take care of business and plan on receiving the packet 3 in 2 or 3 weeks. good.gif

Last night when I was talking to Jessica, we were talking about what is left in the process and everything that will happen. When we talked about the Packet 4, I told her to remember that it is very important that when she receives her packet 4 that she does not open it because it is to only be opened by immigration in the US. So she starts worrying about packet 4. Not only if something happens that it is open, but what if she is in a taxi that is in an accident and the packet 4 goes out the window and is lost, or if someone robbs her house and steals her packet 4. I told her that only my wife would think of these things to worry about. blink.gif

So for now, just relax take care of business and DON'T WORRY. You will drive yourself crazy.

Ok, Ok!!!!! if it makes you guys feel better then go ahead and worry!! rofl.gif

Things are going good with her documents from Peru. Monday she went to the Consulate of Peru in Buenos Aires, and they helped her write a proxy to allow her father to get the documents for her and then they notarized the letter. She sent it to her father and he should receive it either tomorrow or Saturday. And she got all of the information for the three police certificates that she needs. 2 of them he will get the same day, but one takes about 5 days, so it will not be a problem. And she was told that it would not be a problem to get 2 copies of everything.
Then she wants to get them legalized. I keep telling her that they do not need to be legalized because I asked both the embassy and the NVC and they both told me that they do not need to be legalized. But she said it is very easy and all of the documents can be done in 1 day. Because she does not believe the embassy and NVC that they do not need to be legalized. But because it is only one day, I told her to go ahead and get them legalized. Plus I guess since she is doing this stuff now, it is better, because if she needs to use the documents in the United States later, they would need to be legalized anyways.

But she already has all of the documents from Buenos Aires, and she has taken care of all of her vaccinations. Because she did not have any of the records of the vaccinations that she received as a child. So when we get everything from her father in about a week and a half, everything will be ready. good.gif

I just got off of the phone with the Embassy in Buenos Aires. It is a phone number for scheduling interviews for visas like visitor or employement. But I talked to a very nice woman who said that she would send an e-mail for me to find out about our I-129F and she took my cell phone number and said that she would call me tomorrow. And if she could not reach me, she would call my wifes cell phone. To tell me about my paperwork and when to expect the packet 3. kicking.gif

But you have your date!!!!!!!

I was reading the interview timelines and statistics in the State.gov website. Last year the Embassy in Rio issued 1961 immigrant visas, while Buenos Aires only issued 460. This is why the timelines on the website show that for an interview in Buenos Aires the wait is less than a week, whereas the wait time for an interview in Rio is around 5 weeks.

Now don't you wish that you had gone to Buenos Aires to get married? rofl.gif

But they didn't send me any confirmation! That's the problem.... wink.gif

Well, it's not our fault we have the prettiest women (besides Peru, of course) and everybody wants to marry us brazilians!

And BIG NO! I don't wish I had gone to Buenos Aires to get married... and you know why... lol

What are 5 weeeeeks, Steve?! hahahahahahaha laughing.giflaughing.giflaughing.giflaughing.giflaughing.giflaughing.giflaughing.giflaughing.gif

Well I spent quite a bit of time in Brazil, so I can agree about the women in Brazil, along with peruvian woman!!!!!!!!

But the sad thing is that if we get everything together in time, yes we will probably get an early interview, but she will not be able to travel until mid August. But it may work out for us, because this is why I am also pursuing the CR1. You could easily get through the NVC with the I-130 in 8 weeks. Because you are using a lawyer, you could probably do it in about 3 weeks. Because you are using a lawyer, you could pay online, both the AOS and IV bill, then your husband could send in his I-864 and you could send in your DS-230, and then it is just waiting a couple of weeks for the case complete. It is about $500 cheaper and you enter the US with green card. Just something to think about!!

Honestly Steve, I think it's best for me to go with the K3. My attorney is going on vacation for 2 weeks at the begining of July. dead.gif So, that would be way too risky to start the CR1 process now.

Also, she's a busy attorney and mostly has no time to even answer questions I have. So, for us, it wouldn't take 8 weeks, but much much more than that.

So, I guess we are sticking with K3... my husband would kill me if I told him to change for CR1. He knows nothing and would be pissed. lol

Ai ai... you north american men..... wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif

Yes, us North American men!!!!! But as you pointed out your facts about how pretty the women are in South America and we all wanted to marry you. You are marrying us also. hahahaha!!! rofl.gif

Yes, I understand about your lawyer. This is why I do not like lawyers, I HATE relying on other people. I am much more comfortable doing things myself. This way I know they are done correctly and within my timeframe. But I do understand why your husband wants to use one since he is so busy. This process is almost like having a second job.

Is seems like if I am not working on my job, I am doing things for the visa. It's pretty much all I think about.

Now I the NVC website would ever invoice my bill, I could pay it and get started with the CR1 process.

Yes, of course we married you, North American men!!! I love my husband so much, he's everything I have always wanted.... so ooooooooooooook... south and north american people are attracted to each other... lol hahaa

I wish my husband hadn't hired a lawyer. I hardly use her for anything. And when I do, she says: "I'm too busy to respond to e-mails in between each step of the process, especially to respond to questions I have already answered". So, that means I cannot rely on anybody other than me to speed things up.

Exactly, I spend every single free second I have researching about visas... lol... it's funny.

They haven't invoiced your bill yet?!

No, they have not invoiced it yet. But they received it last thursday and it takes a week to 10 days, so it should be any day now. I am just a very impatient person. I want everything done now!!!!! mad.gif

But now, there is not much you have to rely on the lawyer for. With the K3, it is pretty much all up to you now.
The only thing not in your hands is your husbands support paperwork.

I know... and THAT scares me... everything is up on me and my husband now! lol

Well my AOS was finally invoiced online, so I was able to pay it and send the email for choice of agent. kicking.gif

So the CR1 process is finally started. So the race is on between the K3 and the CR1.

Renathci, Yes, it is all on you now, but just remember, you know what to do and can probably do it all better than your lawyer. good.gif

That's great Steve! I guess you should go with CR1, it would be much better for you both!

I know, I know way more than a lawyer... lol....

I should study law when I get up there! hahaha

Oh, it would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kicking.gif But now Jessica is so nervous, thinking what if something goes wrong, or there is a problem with the Medical. Because, if she is pregnant she cannot do the x-ray. But I told her that on the website it states that if you are pregnant, bring a letter from your doctor and they will give you an exemption from the x-ray. And they will not make you do all of the vaccinations either. But she only has 2 of the vaccinations that she does not have yet.

But she is so nervous because she doesn't want to be alone in Buenos Aires while she is pregnant.

Oh Steve, that would be perfect! I am dying to be a mommy, but I have to wait another 3 months for that! lol

And be careful yes with the medical and x ray and vaccines. Also, for K3 and CR1 they request DNA testing if you are pregnant or have a baby with the petitioner. Check that!

Really? Just an email?! Did you receive it yet?

I haven't received anything from the Consulate yet. I might call them next Monday... it will be 2 weeks. Or should I call now?

It does not hurt to give them a call!!! And yes, we received the E-mail for the Packet 3 this morning. But it could be different for Buenos Aires, because with their packet 3, it lists all of the documents that you have to submit before they will schedule the interview.

And yes, this is great. We planned on kids, but I admit, this is a couple months ahead of plan. But like I told her, I expect her to be in the US around mid august, so that is not that much time.
Steve Y Jessica
And by the way, I fly down to Buenos Aires again this Friday!!!!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif
