I've notice from other people filing during March 2008 that almost all of them have received their NOA1 within 14 days. It's been over a month since we filed our I-130, and no NOA1. There is a receipt number (EACxxxxxxxxxx) printed on the back of my cleared check obtained from my online banking system. I tried to input this number into the USCIS online and phone status systems, but there's no record of my case. So I called the National Customer Service Center. The first operator told me to try back on Monday, since that would be 30 days from when my check cleared. I wasn't satisfied with that, so I called again. The second operator transferred me to an officer. She took my info (address, receipt number from check) and told me I should hear a response via post within 30 - 45 days. whistling.gif She did mutter something about "receipt notification issues". I asked her, "what kind of issues?", but she did not give me an answer.

Has anyone else heard something about "receipt notification issues" for the Vermont Service Center, especially for March filers?
Any advice on my next step?

The number on the back of my check was off by one number. I guess this is normal, but it was just one digit up on the last number (example, number on the back of the check ended in a 3, actual number on NOA1 and that worked online ended in a 4), so try that too I guess. You send yours a little before mine and I got it. Wonder whats going on

I had exactly same issue. I thought I was only one to have this or might be human error in typing.

My actual receipt number is one more than number printed on back of the check. smile.gif

Thank you for the responses! As suggested by wowswift above, I entered my receipt number +1 and also -1 for the last digit value into the online status system. They both registered a case status as "received and pending" online. One received on March 26 and one received on March 28. The receipt number that is on my check still shows no record when entered verbatim. But which one is mine, if any??? I then tried to enter all three versions of the receipt number into the phone status system at the Vermont Service Center. There was still no record for any of the receipt numbers at the VSC. The bigger question is, where is my NOA1 hardcopy??? It would be nice if I could compare the receipt number on my NOA1 to the one on the back of my cleared check.

What a way to start!!! mad.gif
