Any body who has gone through the Chennai embassy plz let me know if the original interview letter is required and is it possible to get the visa that day? I would also like to know is it possible to have the medical done the day before interview? my husband has to travel from hyd to the interview.

Its better to have medicals done alteast 2 days before the interview; if they need any more test to be done then you will have more time. I think chennai issues visa the next working day and not sure will they hand over by hand like mumbai.

Better to complete your medicals earlier. so, you can submit your medical report to VFS.

My spouse is having her interview on May 22nd. She got her medical done couple of weeks back. So earlier the better prepared you are!

I agree with the others, it is better to have the medical done at least a week or two before the interview, just in case. That said, I know of a few people who did get their medical done the day before the interview, with no problems. (My husband took the train from Hyd to Chennai for the medical; then again traveled to Chennai for the interview weeks later.)

The original interview letter is generally required. They want to see that before they let you into the Consulate on the day of the interview.

I have never heard of a case of the visa given the same day in Chennai. A few people have gone to the VFS office the next day and got it in person. Otherwise, it is sent by courier and generally arrives within 3-4 days after the interview.
