Hey guys ....as my file is sitting in the dusty hole of chance which is the 'Vegas Service Centre' (Vermont), I thought I'd take some time NOT looking at the USCIS website and staring aimlessly at the 02/24/08 for a few hours ... and instead start preparing for the golden jackpot of NOA2 .... as they're really keeping us on our toes, with when.

I'm looking at the DS-230 form and going 'Oh my' .... question 20 sucks!!!

'20. List below all places you have lived for at least 6 months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Begin wih your previous residence.'

Now, my question to all you smart people is this .... I've travelled a heck of a lot, but not stayed in some places for more than 4 months. Should I still mention them, or just give my permanent address at that time ????
I don't want to leave any gaps in the dates for these guys to start querying and sending RFE's.

The other question I'm staring at is:

'25. List dates of all previous visits to or residence in the United States. (If never, write "never") Give type of visa status, if known. Give DHS "A" number if any.'

OK, this is the question I was dreading due to previously living in the US and flying in and out ..... on and off for 30 years .... however ..... you have to state your location and visa status ..... is the location the airport you flew into with your visa (POE) .... or is the location where you were living/staying ???

I'm fully aware that NVC may not get my file for another 6 months .... but with the current climate at VSC of let's approve a few in Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb/March etc. I have no idea if they're going to suprise me today/tomorrow/next year/January 2025 etc. .... I'm just getting prepared in advance.

So, any thoughts would be appreciated

Sarah,
Hello Darling,
On line #20, only places where you lived, vacation and holiday stays do not count. Only places where you had set up a residence.
On line #25, Its again places you lived. USICS dont think has any concerns of the POE, just where you lived in U.S. and the type of Visa you had at the time. Also, maybe you may want to do a seprate page and give them everything, just to be safe. But Im pretty sure my answers are correct.
I did same thing for my husband, already got all the forms filed out, in fact, Im ditching work today to finish getting this organized with paperwork, and get this damn house finished. Wall papering has taken too long to complete in living room. Cant stand the 3 differnet patterns anymore, ha ha
But I admit, looks pretty when I drink, ha ha
Take care, hope this helps. Stay postive and be your wonderful cheerful self. You have helped this forum oh so much.

Oh, Paris, thankyou .... I've been getting my knickers in a twist over all of this. I don't want them to pull up that I've travelled somewhere, and not mentioned it on my form.
I've had my head in old boxes looking for cancelled passports for dates and everything .... not a pretty sight laughing.gif
Yes, they're going to get separate pages, and I'm quite pleased that I haven't attempted flying over there with this I-130 pending, incase of refusal at POE due to question 32 ... with my crappy luck, they'll have just thrown me in a room and lost the key blink.gif

Can you believe just how much our lives have come to a standstill till all this is over ?!..... I'm beginning to think we should all plan a party somewhere for a weekend when it's all done with, so we can all celebrate the end of a difficult time.
Goodluck with the wallpapering and I agree that everything looks great when there's alcohol involved laughing.gif
Thankyou for the nice things you've said, you're a star star_smile.gif

Don't mention the places where you stayed no more than 4 months.

About your previous visits to US, just mention the addresses where you stayed and your visa status. You don't mention your POE.

Thankyou for your help.
Does anyone know if they are ok with guesstimates on my addresses in the US, I moved around a little at times when I lived there, and cannot for the life of me remember the exact dates of some of my residencies there.

Ha ha .... knicker wedgie is definately something that would've happened if I didn't prepare this paperwork before approval. I started to panic about it when we applied for the expedite .... but, as we got denied, I felt it better to start it now and be ready ..... therefore saving all the chafing blink.gif
A blind fold and cigarette? .... now you're asking too much ..... I-130 applications should made while going cold turkey rofl.gif ...... they are only for the fit and strong ..... all weaklings will fall to the wayside eb0dfafc.gif

'Guesstimations' would be okay.

Am pleased though that I don't have to mention my travels, otherwise they'll have pages and pages laughing.gif

I like the joke about filing yours months ago and now being out of date rofl.gif rofl.gif
