i know this sounds stupid but what the hell does touched mean..I see it on most of the people's timeline just wanted to know what does it really mean>>>??

It just means your file was moved, looked at, refrenced for some reason. Sometimes if you call it will be "touched". If you are on the USCIS website it will be shown as an update. Most of the time it doesn't mean a whole lot, but sometimes when your time is coming up for approval it will be "touched" because it is being reviewed.

SO it says on the USCIS as Touched status??? or does it still say case has been recieved and pending>?>?

you will notice a change in the date on the case page (your case). my case was never "touched" so dont put too much stock in it.

My official "cut & paste" answer regarding "touching"...

"Touching" is meaningless and no big deal. Some petitions get 'touched" and others never do. It only indicates someone had your petition in their hands and scanned it into on the database. Other than proving your petition is not in the trash, it is nothing to get excited over. What truly counts are NOAs (yeah!) and RFEs (Boo!) smile.gif

Yah, they're right. Mine was 'touched' once. (I didn’t feel a thing.) The timeline didn't even quiver. But, it gave me a few minutes of hope during the interminable wait for NOA2.
