Good Luck to both of you!
hi lheeanne, since you already got through with the whole process I would just like to ask were you able to get back the original docs that you sent to NVC with the DS-230? and according to the instructions that I downloaded from the NVC site, the required doc is the Police Certificate(s) and doesn't mention about the NBI which I know is needed on the Interview...so do I also have to send my NBI Cert to NVC?
thank you so much for your help!
Any country could call their police clearances anything they want. For Philippines, NBI or National Bureau of Investigation is the agency in charge of National Police matters.
Basically, NBI clearance is just a type police certificate. These terminologies is why a lot of people are getting confused. The NBI clearance is the Philippine's "National" police clearance and it is what the NVC and the US embassy needs.
If you have lived in outher countries for more than six months, you would then need police clearances for those countries. No matter what those countries happen to call their police clearances. :-)
makes sense? or is it just more confusing now?
