Hey Everyone,

I just finished doing the federal forms through turbo tax and moved on to state. Ttax went ahead and prompted me through everything. At the end I see I owe money on state taxes =(

My question basically is Non resident alien income suppose to be included as total income and taxable at the state level but not at federal(2555)? Please help shed some light on this for me as I couldnt find the right answer. From the looks of how turbo tax did things, it includes it as total income and not exempt. Anyone have experiences on this?

Thanks for the help!

This is what we did: Because one spouse was not a resident of CA for all of 2007, their income (even though it was included into AGI for federal purposes) is not taxed in CA.

I am not an expert...but this is what we did.
