We are planning to get married in September, finally this whole nightmare is almost over. I was just wondering, I know that traveling outside the country is probably out of the question at such an early stage but what about inside the country. I am planning a honeymoon for us in another city and we need to take a plane, I realize that to travel inside the country all you need is some sort of identification but what form of american identification could she use? Is it possible for us to travel by plane inside the country?

Most states will issue you a state ID which is similar to a Drivers license - you an use that for all ID purposes including traveling within the USA. If you can't get the ID - you can still travel using the foreign passport. They do not check anything except the ID - my wife did this till she got her greencard. Good Luck

Oh wow really?! She can use her foreign passport and it won't cause any problems? That's great! About the stat ID can we just go to the DMV and get one?(that's what I did before I had a driver's liscense) I think the ID would be easier, you know, a good ID that she can carry around with her here but if she can't get one then the passport will be ok.

I was just looking at the requirements for Immigrants to get an ID in my state and here they are:
Each immigrant who applies for an original driver license or identification card must submit:
Alien Registration receipt card, (Green card, Form I-551); or
I-551 stamp in passport or on I-94; or
Immigration Judges Order, with the customer's A-number, granting asylum; or
I-797, with the customer's A-number, stating the customer has been granted asylum; or
I-797 or another form from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services, with the customer's A-number, stating the customer's application for Refugee status is approved;
Will she get any of these when she enters the country? I know the green card is another proccess that will take some time but I would really like for her to get an ID as soon as possible so will she get any of the other things mentioned on these requirements?
