I am at the James Shortcut Step 2 (I-864)

What is the difference between the Cover letter and the Barcoded cover sheet.
Is the cover sheet the one I recieve in the snail mail?
Can I send off the package like I have it now (see below). Or do i have to wait for the Cover Letter?

I have Barcoded cover sheet

I-864 form
Taxes and W-2 last 3 years
Letter of employment
Last 3 pay stubs..

Am I missing anything?

Cover letter will just be a list of included documents you are sending to NVC. You need to add self written cover letter indicating what are documents are you including with I-864 package.

Did you write your case# on every page's upper right hand corner ? Also, changed all the details with yours ? Make a copy of the full set for your reference, just in case...

Thanks Everyone!!

My next question. I called NVC and they say my DS-230 is generated. So can I send off my DS-230 too?

Look like you're good to go for your I-864 package. Barcode cover sheet is required, whereas cover letter is used for organizatioal purpose. In addition to the barcode cover sheet, I choose to include my own cover letter to let them know clearly what is included in my package to be sent next Monday. Here is the one I prepare for my AOS package (feel free to modify to your own need):

Don't put in one envelope.
NuWinDo
On the barcode sheet it states: " If you are sending information for other cases in the same envelope, you MUST attach the appropriate BARCODE SHEET to the top of the documents for each individual case included."

To my understanding I should be able to have both package I864 and the DS230 in the same envolope. Am Im wrong?

I would put in two different envelopes with correct barcode sheets in each and send both of these envelopes in the same mailing package to Portsmouth to save on mailing fee.

like tyrone said put material into two evelopes then send them out in one mailing envelope assuming you have your i864 and ds230 generate.
the address will be the same.
just make you have all the requirement for ds230 since HCM is appoinmtent post.
NuWinDo
good.gif Sent my package today. Hope everything goes well. wacko.gif
