Hi folks
anyone with Apr 2008 approvals from California have received any NVC case assignments?
just trying to track the NVC case assignments and the associated timelines i.e. 2-3-4 week delay in NVC assignment?


is there any way to expediate a K3 flow through to NVC from USCIS CSC? The K3 approval is valid till end of July so wondering if it would be enough time for an Indian consulate to receive and schedule an interview.

our i-130 was approved by csc on april 4... and our i-129f on april 9...

the nvc got our i-130 application on april 15... and assigned a number to it....

the i-129f is still in transit i guess...


question: what do you mean by this, "The K3 approval is valid till end of July "... shouldnt the 4-month expiration only start once you get the actual visa and not the uscis approval?

K approved petition is valid from the date of its approval not the date the visa is released. But it can be renewed before it expires.

my bad.... i meant exactly that, the time the us embassy approves the application.... but not the date the uscis approved the application....

We are still waiting for ours to reach the NVC. Does anyone know if since they havent updated the system (mine still says my petition is pending and was last touched on 2-27-08 on their website even though i recieved hard copy NOA2) if this has anything to do with the delays to send to the NVC?

my hubby got the noa2 for i-130 on april 9... but to date, the uscis website says, "case received and pending"...

and yet, when i called the nvc last april 16, they already received the i-130 application.. and assigned a case...

i guess its again time for another round of congressmens and presidents to force USCIS to send the approvals to NVC

Sorry I have missed this. How do we get verification of NVC arrival? Is a phone call or snail mail the only way?

Hey Mohgli... Might be that yours is still in USCIS MAIL ROOM. I was explained that when it means approval and has been sent to NVC it means it was sent to USCIS Mail ROOM. I had to wait almost a month before I got my case number but it was issued on 4/22, you will probably get yours soon. But they do send them out in Bulks from USCIS...

as my luck would have it, out of my 2 approved petitions, only the I129F - k3 made its way to NVC and they have generated a case number for it. Theyhave no record of I-130 track.
I called USCIS and they claimed both are sent out to them, so not sure,

not to loose sleep over this, decided to go thru the K3 route.

want to return to the states and get her interview lined up before i return.

Maybe they have sent your I-130 to the NRC. If you want to go with the I-130, you would have to request your file to be pulled from the National Record Center.
