After waiting four months for a biometric appointment letter, I decided to take a day off to visit our friends at USCIS. I am finally convinced that the USCIS is the most inept government agency in the U.S.

I spent six hours trying to get a stamp in my passport, and to inquire about my yet to be scheduled biometric appointment. It took me four hours to get my passport stamped and two hours to figure out that the USCIS took it upon themselves to change my address. They sent the NOA to the correct address and sent the biometric appointment letter to the wrong address about two months ago.

Exasperated, they scheduled a new appointment for me and profusely apologized. The only thing that kept me from blowing my top, was the immigration officer I was speaking to; she was really nice and seemed to understand the frustration I was feeling.

I got my stamp and the appointment, which was scheduled in two weeks. For anyone out there, please visit your ASC center in your respective states to inquire about questions you may have.

Thank you all and enjoy your weekend.

I'm glad for you that they figured it out. What they SHOULD have done is done your biometrics right then and there. Maybe they had a good reason not to, but if I was working there I would have profoundly apologized and made sure you did not leave without it being done.
