ok, so here I am single mom of three having come out of a terrible marriage of 13 years, only to find the most wonderful, caring, understanding (SEXY) man ever. I'm patiently waiting to become his wife. What scares me though is that I don't know that our government will accept me as a supporter for my fiance. Yes I have a job, but I do receive assistance from the state (I'm a single mom!) Does anyone know how this will affect our case? Has anyone been through a similar situation?

We deal with such issues here frequently. Usually it helps to have some details. May I suggest you begin by studying the I-134 instructions and the form itself. Then compare your earnings to the 125% poverty guidelines for the appropriate household size. If you meet the standards, you're probably ok. If you don't, you would need a co-sponsor regardless of any assistance you receive from the State or otherwise. Court ordered child support may also be used as income on the I-134.
