It's down here too. It was up earlier today. I tried maybe 2 hours ago to see if they got the cover sheet generator working yet, which they hadn't. Maybe that's what they're fixing! Or perhaps they've noticed the public has been able to get in there and make payments when they weren't ready for it yet and shut it off. Who knows.

thats exactly what I was thinking lets just hope they are fixing the kinks

It's back up now, but the cover page generator is still not working.

I was able to print the cover sheet for AOS today. Its is working fine. As the operator told me last week, it might take couple extra days after the payment is cleared to be able to print cover sheets.

Just checked and it is indeed working today! Maybe the NVC read my post about them having their permissions set wrong on their web server and fixed it tongue.gif Wow, it outputs a 2 Gigabyte PDF file! (actually, it said it transferred 2Gb but it saved to disk as 110k) I think they need to tinker with the PDF generator's settings. This cover sheet is DIFFERENT than the one they send in the mail and the one in James's Shortcuts. I doubt they'll refuse either, though. I'll see if I can't convert this into a Word document for others to see.

Okay folks, as promised here is the NEW Online System Cover Sheet which I've converted into MS Word format. You can make one of these for yourself if the online system is down in the future, or is taking a long time to work for whatever reason, or you can just look at it if you're curious what the new ones look like. If you want to make one for yourself, you'll have to go to idautomation to make a barcode for yourself like in James's Shortcuts. Here's the link:
http://www.idautomation.com/java/linearservlet.html

Data to Encode: Your case number i.e. MTL2008123456
You want CODE39 for Symbology.
NO check digit, NO text below barcode.
X Dimension 0.06
Bar Height 3.35

Click create bar code, right click on bar code, pick copy image. Paste into Paint. View > Zoom. CTRL-A to select all. Now drag up and to the left so that the bar code top is right against the edge of the canvas and the first bar is all the way to the left. Be careful not to move it too far to the left and cut off any of the bars! Now click somewhere outside the canvas. Drag up the bottom of the canvas to resize it to the very bottom of the bar code. There's a little blue square at the bottom you can click and drag to resize the canvas. If you start off before pasting with a small canvas, it should be within view. Go back to normal view. Now you should only have the bar code on the canvas. CTRL-A to select all again, CTRL-C to copy. Paste in place of the bar code on the word document. Right click the bar code, pick Format picture, click size tab, untick Lock Aspect Ratio, change height to 1" and width to 2.5". Change the text below the bar code to match your case number. There are supposed to be 3 spaces between each character as there is already in the example.

Great Job but I was able to print out my cover sheet today LOL and the show goes on

That new barcode sheet is so much simpler than the one from James shortcuts yes.gif very basic!

Can someone post the new coversheet for the AOS too?

I wish I could get to it but since I paid my AOS fee bill via mail before the online system was up I can't get to the cover sheet or receipt for it. The online system just shows that it was paid and I can't get anything else about it. Can someone who has gotten their cover sheet for the I-864 from the online system check this one and see if it's the same but with just a change in wording? Feel free to edit the word document to match the new cover sheet for the I-864.

I guess it could come in handy having these since you could actually generate the cover sheet and mail off your documents standard mail and by the time the payment cleared, it would be in their mail room! Sort of like a shortcut that saves you 3 days LOL.

Also, if anyone's curious, the cover sheet e-mail engine is now working correctly. It took about 5 minutes or so to show up in my inbox. Here's what the e-mail they send looks like:

CODE

From: DO-NOT-REPLY@STATE.GOV
To: youremail@domain.xxx
Subject: U.S. DoS - IV Receipt Cover Page for Case 000012345678 <- this is your IIN with 4 leading zeros

Attachments: CVRPAGE000012345678.PDF (110 KB) <- IIN again

Dear Sir/Madam,

The U.S. Department of State's online Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center has been utilized to pay the fees associated
with the immigrant visa application of PRINCIPAL APPLICANT NAME NOT FOUND. Your copy of the cover page is attached to this
email in a PDF file.

If you find that you cannot open the attached file, please double check that you have the most recent version of Adobe
Acrobat installed on your system. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader, you may download it for free at:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Please contact the NVC (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html) with any additional questions you may
have.

***Important: Please do not reply to this email. This mailbox is not set up to receive email.

Looks like there's a little bug to where the e-mail generator cannot grab the name of the beneficiary where it says "PRINCIPAL APPLICANT NAME NOT FOUND". The name does correctly appear on the attached cover sheet, though!

The AOS cover sheet is a little different from the IV Bill, not by much though. I will post it soon.
