hello,

My fiancee file a petition for me as a fiancee visa lats feb. 25,2008. But untill now he did not receive a notice yet. He called to the VSC, the man told him that because of many backlog sinced they increase a fees. and to receive a notice of reciept may take 17 weeks.. Oh so long. Is this true? Who have the same case as mine? did you experienced likes this?

that's indeed very long. did you send a check? has it been cashed? because if you did you can find your filenumber on the back of you your cashed check. if you use this on the website of USCIS you can see what your status is. i've heared of more people who had their NOA 1 lost on the way...

yes, my fiancee send a check, and the check has not yet been cashed. 17 weeks is very long.. some here thier case is so fast. but our's is not.. so sad we are waiting for that soon.

did he send it fedx or just normal mail if it was sent normal mail .............it might be better to cancel the check and resubmit the documents and the fee............but if he sent it fedx there is proof that they signed for it soooooo i guess it could be back logged...........anyway i hope it gets better for u smile.gif

I would be thinking about resubmitting your petition and canceling the first check. Vermont tends to be the faster service center, and if you haven't received your NOA1 in almost 2 months, something sounds amiss...
