Full Version: Giving up
VisaJourney.com > Marriage Based Immigration (K1, K2, K3, etc) to the USA > IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa General Discussion

CJ Vasani
I finally am giving up sticking only to the CR1 route as I learned from multiple sources that USCIS Vermont is taking their sweet little time processing them. I'll be mailing the I-129F tomorrow to go via the K-3 route and hope that is faster that waiting for NOA2 for my I-130. unsure.gif

I just want to be close to Anu regardless of the extra $$$ or effort involved in adjusting the status. innocent.gif

Not a good sign... only 6 weeks into the CR1 process and you have lost patience. It will be a few months whichever path you chose at this point.

I've got to agree. I suggest you take a very careful look at the timelines. You may be throwing away the time you've already waited.

Good luck, whatever you decide to do.

I think it is your personal choice but I guess you should look at Delicia's spreadsheet since from few month USCIS approval time trend is getting shorter and NVC introduced online bill payment systems reducing mail time dramatically. These factors would cause not much difference in getting K3 vs. IR1.

Good luck on whatever choice you take. yes.gif

I would say you file I-129F too. It wouldn't cost you anything. Also, you can ignore it if your I-130 is approved first. good.gif

Patience is definitely key. I sent my stand alone I-130 petition out in January and got my NOA1 Feb. 7, this year. Haven't heard anything else as of yet. smile.gif It's definitely a waiting game. It stinks being away from my husband now, but nothing with this immigration seperation will equal up to the many years that we will have together once everything is approved. *crossing fingers*

Maybe, but in practice it seems that when you submit a 129F, they go and pull your 130, pair them, sometimes set them to the back of the line at that point and then approve them together. If they get approved together, then the USCIS is supposed to hold your 130 and your K3 will get processed even though the IR1/CR1 would likely get processed in the same amount of time, especially with the NVC's online payment system being officially released by then.

hang in there, both petitions will take some time and wear you down..
