So, I toodled on down to Chicago this morning for my InfoPass appointment (my 1 year extension needed extended) and, as expected, they gave me a stamp in my passport. They also told me I was approved (and she wrote that under my stamp in the passport too) although I have yet to hear anything about that - my case still shows a 'last touced' date of Apr 2 online. Anyway, what I found interesting was what she did with my 2 yr green card - I had heard some people had it taken off the, some had the corner snipped, some got it back etc etc but in my case she actually snipped the corner off and stuck it inside my passport on the oppsoite page to the stamp. It seems to be laminated in there too. Bizarre. Hadn't herad of this happening before so thought I would throw it out there 1) as info for folks heading to Chicago for a similar apppointment and 2) to see if anyone else had the same thing happen and knows they why's and wherefore's about it.

Cheers!

Andy

And still no change in my case status online. Do they only update the approvals once a week now or something? Anyone know? The verbal approval was nice but, as I am sure most of you understand, I won't believe it until the card is in my hands.

My husband got a verbal approval at his InfoPass appointment on the 14th. She said he had been approved on the 12th. Got the email on the 16th that card production was ordered. So hopefully you will follow the same pattern. That is weird what they did to your card! They took my husbands.

I'm curious, how long did she stamp it for? They only stamped my husbands for 90 days since she said we were getting the card soon. I had never heard of Cleveland only doing 90 days before.

Mine is a 60-day stamp only - I wasn't expecting a full year or even 6-months given other folks stories from the Chicago office.
