so I received the AP in the mail yesterday kicking.gif kicking.gif It made me a bit nervous because they seem to state that there are a lot of conditions on using it, not a done deal to let you back in the US. And I received two copies....would I have to surrender one when I am returning to the US?....or do they just somehow know I lose things :blush:and wanted to be sure I have an extra one.

When both me and my daughter used our AP's for the first time, we only took one copy with us. At the border (we drove into the U.S. on our return from Canada), we had to go inside and they stamped the AP document as well as put a stamp in our passports.

After the first trip, we only used our passports to re-enter the U.S. The stamp was all we needed, so we didn't take the AP documents with us after that.

Rayma did you and your daughter each get 2 copies of the AP? I was expectiong to just get one....do you have any idea why they would give me two...both originals? They didn't take the AP document away from you then? Just want to know what to expect upon returning...thanks.

I got 2 copies as well. I think I have seen posted on here before that they usually take one away from you the first time you use it.

I have received 2 copies as well and they didn't take one, they just stamped it when I was crossing the border.
I was panicking a little too when I was leaving because of what is says on the AP but don't worry, they let you in with no problems.
They did take me to a separate room
Of course you had to have been legal all the time.
They do issue AP even if the person was in the US illegaly but I would not use it in this case.
Hope it helps.
