Full Version: What does File assign mean?

Hi Guys, I called USCIS today and they mentioned that my file (I-130) is assigned to an officer. He did not want to tell any thing more. Does it mean that I am one step closer to be approved or it does not mean anything? I appreciate any reply. Thanks.

Don't quote me, but it sounds like your file may be with an adjudicator .... in which case that's brilliant
Put it this way, it hasn't been lost in a dusty cupboard .... someone alive actually has your file, and hopefully will start working on it.

Oh Happy Day for you and your hubby it does sound very much like it's being adjudicated by an officer therfore you can look for Happy news soon

hyd617, have you called USCIS recently? Did they also assign your file to an officer? I am hoping all October filers who are not approved yet, are assigned to an officer at this point.
