hello to all i am new to this website and forum.
my question is came to the u.s about 12 yrs ago on a b-2 visitor visa .i was only 15yrs old .i overstayed to go to high school and never looked back .i am now married to my wife a u.s citizen for a yr now and we have started the process of adjustement of status.my i-130 she petitioned for me has been approved we have filed for the a.o.s and e.a.d in march and we have our biometrics scheduled for later this month(april26th).
my questions are 1;can i get a social security card with just the e.a.d n.o.a and biometrics letter.i have a A# ISSUED TO ME ALREADY.can they issue me one or not?
the local dmv here in north carolina already said that with just the stamped biometrics letter they would issue me a state i.d valid for 6 months only.
2:my second problem is that i dont have my passport with me currently .it is being renewed and i had to send it to my consulate in nyc and that was back in january of this year and its still not ready.to go to the biometrics appointement (i have both e.a.d and i485 the same day)i need a picture i.d and all i have is a consular i.d card issued by my government.i want to know if this i.d will be acceptable.i called u.s.c.i.s and they didnt even know for sure and the last thing i want is to go all the way to charlotte and be turned away .is there a number where i can call the charlotte application support center directly and ask ...its too short notice to make a infopass appointement.my biometrics is next saturday!!!

i would appreciate any helpful answers.
thanks

Yes, you should just need the EAD.

I don't imagine they'll mind. As long as it's ID with your photo, your name and your date of birth, you should be ok. The requirements don't specifically ask for a passport.
