Hello,

My fiancee submitted already our papers to Vermont service center, last feb. 25 and until now he did not receive a notice yet. He called yesterday and ask about that why till now we he didn't receive yet. The man answered that,
due to the huge backlog of applicants that applied just before the rate increase in June, 2007, they are experiencing waits of up to 17 weeks before a receipt goes out". live person on the phone and asked him about the cover sheet and the letter of intent to marry. He said there is no letter needed, that if you have the check in there and filled out the I-129f and the G-325, not to worry.

Oh my gush just to receive a notice take so long... what about teh time frame of that? so fiancee visa cant get 6 mos. now coz many backlog?...

Oh hope we can receive a notice soon...

did you experience this? as i saw same case here fiancee visa thier case are so fast...

what happen to my case..

Has your petition even gotten to Vermont?
How was it sent?
Tracking and signature upon arrival?
Has the check been cashed?

I would get him to call and speak to someone else, you should have at least recieved a reciept. Has the check been cashed, sometimes you can get the reference number from the back of the cheque and then sign up to the uscis online.

Lady,

My fiance who is the UCS sent the file at the end of April 2007 and we had a problem. When he called CSC they told him to wait and we stupidly waited (unfortunately in those days we did not know VJ or we would have go ahead and refiled straight away). We ended up applying again in October.

My advise would be to apply again and to get special mail delivery. Don't make the mistake we made !!!!!

I am already paranoid to think it what happen or if the papers is there already but my fiancee said he sent it to the right address. everyday i think it.. not so bad coz its more than a month but as i saw other case here very fast. after a week or 2 wwks they got noticed already.. our case not... and 17 weeks is so long for only a notice i guess.
~Laura and Nick~
He should have sent it with tracking and signature upon delivery, that way you could track it and you know when it's delivered cause it has to be signed for.
I would call back again.

my fiancee said that it was a special delivery

If it was special delivery he should be able to track whether or not it has been received by USCIS....If it has there is nothing to worry about star_smile.gif

KimandRuss
7 weeks and not even cashed the check? That's the one thing they do quickly! wink.gif Yeah, either he misunderstood or the person he talked to is brain damaged. He should definitely call back!

There are lots of ppl here who have had RFE's for things a lot less significant than a missing letter of intent or other information. If you're sending the package again I would read the guides here as well as the instructions on the USCIS website and be sure you do it right to delay any further delays.

good luck to you.
