I paid my IV bill online on Saturday and today i saw that the status changed to Paid and I can print out the coversheet. Even though I can't mail out my DS230 I called NVC and the automated message still says the same thing..."NVC has received the DS3032 and will send out instructions in the next few weeks"....this is only at the AOS stage...I sent out my I-864 yesterday priority so do you think the message will change once they receive my I-864 package...even though other members has wrote back and told me i shouldn't worry that I paid the IV bill online even though the message didn't say so but I'm worrying...why is my message not changing...anybody else experience this...

It takes a day for the automated system to update. You'll probably hear that the I-864 has been generated on there tomorrow. If you talk to an operator they have the most up to date information.

Here is the fresh one seeks your help.
So, we can print out I-864 or DS-230 Barcode cover sheet after online payment paid and accepted? We need not wait for the mail from NVC, neither do we need do James' shortcut on the barcode cover sheet, right ?
Thanks!
Lucy
That's correct. You do
not need to wait for NVC to send you the mails. As soon as you can verify that your I-864 and/or DS-230 have been generated by calling NVC, you can overnight the package(s) to NVC with your printed barcode cover sheet(s) online. The option to use the online cover sheet or James's Shortcut one is up to you. I created both of my barcode sheets from James's method. Good luck!
Thanks!

Hi Tyrobe,
Can you give us a sample of your email that you send NVC to request the Invoice ID Number because I been trying to get that number from NVC for the last 3 days and it's not working for me, they won't give it to me. So I wanted to try to send them an email and request it that way. I am so bothered that I can't get it that number and you guys did

When, I called this morning to get IIN, the not-so friendly operator said that they are testing it with few attorney's for their clients and so it is not generally available. I did not get IIN!!!!

Here is the sample email that I sent to NVC to obtain my IIN:
Subject: NVC Case Number XXXXXXXXXXXXX (Invoice Identification Number)
To: NVCINQUIRY@state.gov
Case Number = XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Beneficiary's Name and DOB =
Petitioner's Name and DOB =
Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is NAME. I am the agent and the husband of WIFE'S NAME. The Immigration Visa Bill for our case has been generated on XX/XX/2008. I would like to know the Invoice Identification Number for our case so I can pay the Immigration Visa Bill online.

After I send the email, I received the standard automatic reply as usual. After 6 days, NVC emailed me back with the IIN.

Tyrobe,
I see your DS-230 was generated on 4/17 but you did not send you DS-230 in till the 29th. any speicific reason form NVC perspective why you waited this long?
Just want to share my recent online experience with everyone.
I made a payment online for the IV bill on 4/27, by 4/29 I had my IV bill paid. Called the operator and found out that my DS-230 generated on 4/28.
I printed my coversheet, however, before sending out the DS-230 I checked my bank account and the fee was not withdrawn for my account. I waited another day and even called my bank, there was no trace of the IV bill fee submitted to my bank account. I checked the payment account at NVC and my status was still paid.
this morning I checked the NVC payment site and the payment status was rejected, so obviously there was a problem somewhere with the payment site. I am 200% sure that I didn't make any mistake with my bank information etc. I resubmitted the payment today and will wait till the money is withdrawn from my account. I am not trusting NVC payment "status." I recommend everyone to make sure that the money is withdrawn from their banks before sending out documents and not to completly trust the Online site for status.
thx

I had the opposite problem. The online site lied and said I wasn't paid. It errored out when I made a payment but since it said not paid and not in process with the box grayed out I figured it didn't take. Well, it did take and my payment went through twice. Over 2 weeks later, I still don't have my money back. People don't realise that the online system is not officially launched yet and that it still has bugs. They need to be aware that using this system is at their own risk and isn't necessarily without fault and if one encounters a problem, they will have limited recourse through the NVC since it isn't supported yet. Of course, you stand to save a lot of time but don't come into it with expectations that all will definitely go smoothly.

Perhaps that is why they were doing the Maintenance thing on 4/30 to 5/1. I paid on 5/1 for my AOS and I checked my bank today and they funds have been taken out already. Therefore I am hoping that the bugs been taken care of! I will let you know what happens once I am able to paid for my IV bill. Good Luck to all!!

I was planning to send both I-864EZ and DS-230 packages together but we ran into a little delay with my wife's documents. Instead of letting my wife to send the documents by mail to me, I asked her to give the documents to a person that we know to bring them to US and then send them to me for safety reason. That person arrived in US and didn't send the documents to me until 2 weeks later. That's why I've to wait until 4/29 to send my DS-230.
After all, it's still ahead of my expectation. I wouldn't think that I would send all requirements to NVC by the end of April. Now I'm just waiting for the case to be completed at NVC and the call-up to the medical/interview. Online payment helps me in this regard.

Badspellor, did you get through and to the point of below step which was post#1 did by Tyrobe on 4/17 ( Page one of this topice )?
Step 4: Payment successfully Submitted
Step 5: Payment details with transaction ID?
We are tring to pay AOS fee today, but we never have the chance to see Step 4 & 5, and instead, we see the red box to say the payment is not successful as the system is not available.
We try a second time, still the same red box.
Will we be charged twice, or we fail to pay? Crazy.
Anyone with the same experience? Pls comment. Thanks a lot!

Hi Nita,
So, you're not paying your IV Bill Fee yet. My husband was trying to pay the IV Bill Fee but was'nt able to go through the online payment because it says NOT INVOICE, though he was successful on paying AOS.
I was wandering if we can pay the bill without waiting for NVC's automated system saying that IV Bill was generated. My husband also did'nt send the I-864 Affidavit of Support documents yet unless NVC's system says it's being generated.
Do you know anybody here who sent any document to NVC before such document is being generated? Were they successful?

Actually once you pay online and it switches to PAID, you can print the cover sheet from the online and send it with your I-864. Hi VJ ... I only got the automatic message that states we received your package of Documents but found documents missing, this is the fake RFE people talk about, I called and finally got through and they confirmed that everything was fine and that they are waiting on the IV Bill Fee and then DS-230.
Did you get this message yet?

Hi Nita & Assaad,
I just paid my IV bill online too. I noticed in your time line that they have accepted your I-864. I sent mine almost two weeks ago. But never heard anything in the automated message. Did your automated message tells it or you called them to verify it? (Acceptence of I-864)
Thanks.

After I hit "CONTINUE TO RECEIPT" it came up with a screen "Database Error" and completely logged me out of the system. Logging back in it said NOT PAID so I tried again. Same thing happened. Now $800 has been deducted out of my account and none of it is entered as paying my IV bill. No in process, no receipt, no nothing. Now I have to try and get the NVC to refund money they think they couldn't possibly have taken because it came from a system they think isn't up and working yet. Freak accident? Maybe. But it could happen to you. Before urging everyone to go right away to pay their AOS fee and/or IV bill they should know there are risks involved. We still don't have a single confirmation that the NVC themselves has accepted anyone's payment. Those of you whose status online is PAID, please call the NVC and see if they really processed your payment and let us all know.
You're right as there's an inherent risk for the first batch of online-payment users as bugs are still being sorted out. Important system like this one should have a beta phase first before releasing to the public. Anyway, I paid last night and it's listed as IN PROCESS. I just logged on this morning and it's listed as PAID (less than 24 hours).
In any case, I still highly recommend everybody from now on to use the online payment system. It's easy; it's quick; and it's environmentally friendly way to pay bills. Plus, you save money for
not shipping overnight!
I just paid for my IV online too, right on the dot at 7:30 AM EST I called NVC... I was placed on a queue and the automated operator said 2 minute wait. So I waited and finally got tp speak to a live operator. I've tried to call for the last couple days without success. So I decided to call first thing @ opening bell and it worked. I tried calling back after without any success. That is after I got my IIN number. So I used the IIN number and my case number to log in with success. I paid for the BILL and after printing the receipt i noticed the status was paid and it was someone else's case number account with a different name other than mine. I logged off and then logged back in and My information was corrected. my status for the payment is "IN PROGRESS". Hope it will complete by the end of today. Thanks for all the info guys.

I went online to pay the AOS bill on thursday night, found out they need the checking account information (I had my credit card) since I hardly use checks, I had to go find my box of checks

, found it 10 minutes later... and logged back in only to find the NOTICE the site is down for some work

so I had to wait an additional 4 days

After I got my Invoice Identification Number from an operator by calling NVC at 1-603-334-0700, I immediately logged on
Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center in order to pay my bill online. Here are the screenshots as a reference to clear up all the confusion since the online system just starts recently.
1. After I entered my NVC Case Number and IIV, I got an option to which bill to pay. (Note I already paid AOS bill using James's Shortcut)
2. Now I can input my bank information after IIV has been authenticated.
Thanks for these screenshots Tyrobe, now its visible to us what is payment online looks like. Goodluck to your upcoming interview.
3. Agreed to have a direct withdrawal from my bank.
4. Payment successfully submitted.
5. After I hit "CONTINUE TO RECEIPT", I got this screen.
6. Here's the receipt again if I need to print it out.
Now go pay your bills online. Good luck y'all!

That's too bad. I did end up getting my extra $400 back via a cheque in the mail from the treasury department although it took 30 some days. I called the NVC and they gave me the schtick about the online system not being up yet but eventually they had me email a supervisor with screenshots from my online bank statement. It then took about a week for them to get to my email and then another week and a half to two weeks for the supervisor to act on the email. I called after that and was told that my request for a refund was approved and it was in my mailbox about a month after my initial call.
First, I'd wait maybe another week. I know with paper cheques that it can take up to 10 business days to clear and this is virtually the same thing minus the paper. After that, I would suggest you try to get them to let you email a supervisor so they can help with your situation. If you have the Pay.gov ID and tracking number I'm sure that'd help. Also a bank statement showing the money was taken by them will help, too. Good luck!

I paid my IV bill online on JUly/2/2008. on July/4/2008 status changed to Paid. called NVC on July/08/2008 operator said payment has been received on July/4/2008 and DS-230 has generated.

badspellor, I'm sorry for your experience and am glad that you finally got your money back after a long waiting. I'm currently in a similar situation.
I paid $400 on 6/30/2008 and the online system showed status PAID on 7/1/08 and the money came out from my bank that morning. Therefore I printed off the cover sheet and mailed the document in. Now NVC received the document but claimed the IV fee wasn't paid yet and sending document early will delay my process. I called operator and was told that he could see $400 payment received but somehow the payment wasn't applied to the case. He said he would request to look at this issue and will have something in 10 to 15 business days. I am curious two things:
1. Will the money I paid in the end connect to my case? I can provide the online payment receipt with trans ID and PAID status. Also I have bank statement.
2. Will that significantly delay my case? The reason I asked is that online system accepted my father's payment just fine and had problem with my mother's payment. I hope that their cases don't run out of sync.
Thank you very much for any hints or lights anybody can shed on.
Good Luck to you all!
