Some of my favorite Bible verses:

Hebrews 11:1 (New Living Translation)
"Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see."

Mark 11:24 (New King James Version)

"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."

The wife of our youth pastor has taught me before that when you pray, you have to pray as if you already hold the thing you pray for in your hands. She taught me that in order to have a powerful prayer, we should learn how to claim it. When she pray, she don't say "Lord pls give me this or give me that".. she says: "LORD, I THANK YOU FOR GRANTING ME......(whatever she is praying for).... IN ACCORDANCE TO YOUR WILL & GLORY!" ...She don't always receive every thing she prays for BUT she knows that God has answered her prayers in accordance to His will for God knows the future and what is best for us better than we do.

Right now, I am claiming and thanking God that you will have a successful interview. May God be your tongue when you go in front of the consul.

God be with you always.rose.gif

foxyroxy, you're one of the first people I have had the honor to really communicate here on VJ... I've always felt that we had this shared affinity and you have always been in my prayers, long before you knew of your interview sched. We may not be emailing much lately and I may not have posted on your every thread but i do follow what's going on in your visa journey, all the small glitches and all the big success. I will continue to hold you and your daughter in my thoughts and my prayers. I'm positive you'll gonna ace the interview and I'm sure it won't be long for your daughter to be with you also.rose.gif rose.gif rose.gif

God be your constant guide and source of strength.

I don't know if Phil. 4:6-7 is what you mean.. I'm lousy at Bible memory verse, my kids could always beat me fair and square blush.gif . Anyweiz, here's 2 of the most common translations:

Philippians 4:6-7
(New Living Translation)
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 (New International Version)
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

It is not really what you say to God that matters in prayer but the heart of the one praying.. some people say they don't know how to pray.... I just tell them to close your eyes and try to talk to God the way you talk to the closest person to you. He doesn't need any special effects or any rituals or any material offerings or any fancy words, or loud voice or meaningless repetitions, He just needs a heart that really wants to get intimate with Him. And it is always the most beautiful thing when you can truly connect with Him and pour out everything directly to Him.

But when there are times when you feel that you don't know how to pray or that you just can't connect directly with God.. Don Moen's song "I WILL SING" could really speak to you and make you feel that you are not alone in feeling that way, a lot of Christians do feel that way from time to time. (i've felt it many times over the years and that's when i pray the hardest and that's when i cry barrels of tears while singing this song.. it is a beautiful song). And if you feel the connection with God but is still face with a very difficult nearly impossible situation then, "GOD WILL MAKE A WAY" (still be Don Moen would be the best song to lift your spirit.

Here's the first 2 stanza of "I WILL SING"

Lord You seem so far away. A million miles or more it feels today.
And though I haven't lost my faith, I must confess right now that it's hard for me to pray.
But I don't know what to say and I don't know where to start.
But as you give the grace with all that's in my heart.

I will sing.
I will praise even in my darkest time through the sorrow and the pain.
I will sing. I will praise.
Lift my hands to honor You because Your word is true. I will sing.
