Can we get together to post of our progress? I am preparing to do so in June (May, Lord willing) and need all the help I can get so hopefully we do not have to interview this time around.
What did/are you planning to submit as proof? And is there another employment letter/2 years of tax returns required with this as it was with AOS?

Vincent’s enthusiasm for his life with Mindy is delightful, but the more excited he gets, the faster he speaks.

5. Mindy told me about her relationship with Vincent four years ago. I’ve know her for a long time and it was apparent that Vincent was very special to her. In 22 years, I’ve socialized with Mindy a lot, but our best time together was at her engagement party. I was thrilled that my good friend had found the love of her life in Vincent. He was just as excited about their pending marriage as she was. The complement each other and together make a great team.

Her and I have been working on this together for a few months now. While she ran things by me, I made notes to make sure I didn't forget it too.
I would say as far back as you can. I plan on starting from November 2006, when Andre got his green card. I'm only sending quarterly copies of everything. No need for monthly as long as they keep going for 2 years straight.
I've been putting stuff in individual file folders every month since Nov. 2006. I am ready to go now.

Hey Jonesie. We were suppose to file in January but waited until February because I wanted to include our 2007 tax returns. Damien's job made a mistake on his W2 so I sent our package anway...got tired of waiting. We may get a RFE.
Mindy and I also compared list so we almost have the same evidence. Don't forget the paper the 2 year green card came in...it said something similiar to: include this letter if you are extending your CG or you requesting a replacement to expedite the process...something crazy like that. Not sure that means anything but it won't hurt to include it.
Good luck to you. Although you shouldn't have any problems with your beautiful baby...his birth certificate is great evidence. And your joint lease or rental agreement. Damien isn't on my lease but all utilites are in his name and we sent evidence that he pays them out of his own account...this may be problem. We are looking to move in the next 2-3 months so we'll be ready if we receive a RFE.
Damien's biometrics was March 14. He got his passport stamped April 10th...the day his CG expired. Last Saturday we received a "duplicate" NOA extension letter. But we never got the orginial

Gill - start collecting after you get married just in case you have an AOS interview. Hopefully, you won't have an interview but you never know....just be prepared. Most things on our list we had to provide for the AOS interview so we were prepared for LOC. We had to show evidence of joint bank accounts, bills in both names, wedding pictures, health and life insurance policies, etc.....

I agree, Gill. I didn't get around to adding Andre's name to everything until early last year....had to wait for the Green card for most of our stuff and then it all takes time. But, once I did, I have been collecting them faithfully when they come in. Things that didn't need to wait, I have been collecting since we got his greencard. I have files set up. Everytime something comes in, I copy them and stick in the file.
It's easier to keep up with it all the while, then scramble at the end.

Thank you so much for mentioning this, as I completely forgot about it. I was on the hunt looking for that paper yesterday. We still have unpacked boxes in our spare room so I was tearing through them gathering all the documents and papers for previous filings. I found that sheet (thank the Lord I kept everything they sent us), and since we interviewed for AOS and they didn't take any evidence from the binder, I found some things in there that I can use for this step of the process

I printed out our gas/electric bills, 2006 and 2007 joint tax returns, found our health coverage statements from his work, and will be going to the bank probably early next month for a letter stating when our joint account was opened and that it is still active. We have checks from the account but they bear our previous address...I guess we can explain that if need be. I will be doing more printing today so that I can start to assemble this binder.

Jonsie.....dont' you have to list ALL addresses on you've lived together on the I-751? I don't have it in front of me at work; but I think you do. If so, I would not worry about the bank statements saying anything different as far as the address goes. 2 years is a long time. People move all the time.
Oh, yah, I keep forgetting to mention the card thing the 2 year GC came on. Mindy forgot it too till I reminded her. I found ours in our car just about a month ago. I was so shocked. It was under the seat and someone must've spilled soda on it or something. (Shrug) It's going in with the package no matter how it looks!

I was going to mention the previous address because we lived there until Jan. 2007. I'm just ready to get this whole process over with

the good thing is that with the exception of the government paperwork, gathering proof seems to be very similar to AOS. We better not have to interview

Exactly...that's why I recommend you start collecting right after marriage. You never know if you'll have an AOS interview and they require joint financial evidence. Our interviewer only asked for our joint account statements and employment letter but we offered other stuff like...insurance policies, joint household bills etc. She was so pleased. It depends on your interviewer but it's better to be prepared than to have nothing at all. It definitely helped with the LOC evidence. They also want to see evidence from the entire marriage not from the time you recieved the GC.
We had no problems getting things in both name with Damien's SS card and Jamaican passport....even before he started working.

I was wondering about that. I was going to do a photo section starting from when we got married (a month after he arrived to US) up to recent, and gather a few documents that go back to 2006 up to now (I think we can get copies of our joint credit card statement).

BUT -- I can't take all the credit. I copied my cover letter from Julie (Sbys) -- I found it here on VJ in one of the "guides" I sent it to her (and because she filed two weeks before I did) I took her final letter and changed it with my info. Would love to say that was my brillance but it wasn't.Jonesie: I started collecting things the moment Roy got here. We kept a folder in the kitchen and would drop mail and other things in there so it was all in one place. It does say in the "instructions" 'from the time of the marriage' so we included photos from our wedding shower and from the wedding too. It was over 200 pages of utter CRAP but it made me feel better

We married and filed almost immediately after he got here in 2006. Thus, the reason I am not worried about much before the green card arrived. Like I said, they wouldn't let us do a darn thing here in Missouri before he got the green card, so there is little paperwork to prove. I have lots of scrapbook pages from then to then though.

Hey my girl

good to see you around

I'm a packrat when it comes to bills so I know somewhere around this place I have old bills, but your idea was very smart (for all those that have yet to file AOS/Removing Conditions - take notes!) to drop proof in the folder

Thanks SJB & JG...it's like a little mini reunion for the VJ-129F Yardie class of 2006. That's really sweet...

I hope in 2 years current filers can be the same way! Like I said before good luck to ALL of you....I can just imagine how nice it will to have the USCIS out of your lives...once and for ALL! I am sure you all will be fine...you have each other to bounce stuff off!

How did he get his passport stamped? I thought you couldn't do that until 1 year after the GC expired? The NOA letter extends the GC for 1 year after it expires. I thought that if by then, you still haven't gotten the new GC, then you can go get the stamp. I'm confused

We're doing good. Tony's still looking for a job. He's been home with the baby which is saving us money in daycare, but not good for Tony. He gets depressed when he's not working. I've been back to work for a month now and hating every minute of it! I miss my baby
We did get an e-mail and a letter stating that our case got transferred to California so that's good. NSC is sooooo backed up - they're almost 2 years behind right now. I'm hoping to hear something soon, hopefully without another interview!

His letter extends his GC til August - after that if we still don't have it, we'll have to get a stamp. It's been over 10 months now since we sent in our petition

Agreed! I printed every bank statement since hubby was added. The damn lawyer said they don't usually send in all of them. Something about not pissing them off by making them go through so much stuff. My reply was, I thought that was the point to show over the two year time span.

And asked if he could please send in all of the statments, WTH.

We had no problems getting things in both name with Damien's SS card and Jamaican passport....even before he started working.
ok so where did my post go

Hi guys

Hope y'all are doing ok...miss you tons
We sent out our I-751 on 05/08/08 and they receieved it on 05/12/08. That is all the info we have so far. We didn't have nearly the evidence most people have but we tried our hardest and I am putting the rest of the process in God's hands. We sent to NSC so I know it will take a while or so it seems. Hope everyone gets through this process smooth and easy. Congrats Rhonda

RE: I-751 JOINT PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF STATUS ON:
(K-1 VISA) XXX, A# XXX
Dear USCIS examiner:
We were married on September 27, 2005. While we entered into our marriage in good faith we unfortunately encountered many obstacles along the way. We began attending marriage counseling with XXX in September of 2006. While there was some progress gained by attending counseling sessions, our obstacles became so great that we decided to live separately to give us both a chance to work on ourselves and work on our marriage. Jamie moved out on May 5, 2007 and XXX moved out on May 31, 2007. We each attained our own apartments. We continued to work on our marriage and see each other on a near daily basis even though we were maintaining separate residences. We continued to seek marital counseling and sought to reconcile back into one household. We spent nearly every day together and celebrated all holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations as a family.
In April of 2008 we attended a Weekend to Remember Marriage Seminar put on through Family Life. We were given the opportunity to unofficially renew our vows at that time and we chose to do so. Shortly after that it was decided that we would move back into one household. As soon as XXX lease is up on May 31, 2008 we will be combining households at Jamie’s apartment. We both couldn’t be more thrilled. It has been a long, difficult road to travel but we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel towards full marital reconciliation. We both desire to have a happy and healthy marriage relationship with each other for many decades to come. Now, armed with the resources and experiences we have acquired over the last year of our marriage, we feel we are both more prepared and better equipped to contribute to a marriage relationship.
Thank you for taking the time to read over this statement and our petition. We ask that you grant XXX his unconditional permanent residency so that he can remain here in the United States and we can continue to grow together as a couple in our marital union.
Thank you for your consideration,

I know that the last time I was on that divorce was in the cards. We went pretty far with the divorce procedings but in the end things turned around and they have been getting better everyday. I am not going to go into all the details but I will say that miracles do happen and things can change in the blink of an eye. Never in a millions years did I think this is where I would be but here I am. I was all prepared to be a divorced woman papers were drawn up and everything but then God got ahold of me, of us and our marriage and made it very clear that another plan was going to be put in place. His plan. I feel like a different person...DH is like someone I never knew before. It is amazing the power God has. Transformation has truly taken place and the prayers I prayed and others prayed for many years were answered...patience truly is the key

I took a much needed break from the board and focused on some other more important things. I missed you all but I am glad to be back
