Well, it's roughly 4 months and I'm beginning to think that my paperwork is lost in the shuffle. Just needed to vent about my frustration with CSC. I'm sure many of you are in the same boat.
SHAPE OF MY HEART
Giovanni,
Yeah, don't worry you are not alone.. As i am still seeing mid 2007 filers who are still waiting for NOA2 (APPROVAL).
More patience to come..

I get that nagging feeling too that my paper work has just been lost. Nothing to do but wait. I've read many times that it is very unlikely that it is lost. CSC is just that slow. I know that probably doesn't make you feel better. But we are all in this together! star_smile.gif

As long as you have an NOA1 in your hand they have it. Just imagine all the dust on your file.

Dude, don't worry. It took me four months to get my NOA2. CSC takes a LOT longer than VSC, which is bs in my opinion and isn't fair, but yea it sucks and that's the way it is. Some people wait longer for four months for their NOA 2 so don't worry they didn't lose your paperwork, or at least you dont need to worry about that for awhile. You couild get your NOA 2 in like a week or you could get it in 2 months, just depends.

Good luck to you, and i think you'll get it soon

I don't think many of us are much patient... we just have to wait and sit it through, there is not much else we can do... we can make ourselves go crazy (and basically we do go a bit crazy over it) but yeah, that will only make things worse for us so we try to keep our cool.
God's*GiRL
Look at my timeline its gonna our 6 months on may 1 and still waiting..
I know its hard to be patient but thats all we have to do.
Seems like CSC stop giving approvals for k1 this month uhh?i've seen only few.

Patient? Who's patient? I sure as heck am not! wacko.gif This is seriously one of the hardest things I think I will ever do in my life. And getting close to wrapping up another week with single digit NOA2's coming out of the CSC makes everyday seems a little harder.

HOWEVER, like so many others have posted, I try to find ways to be distracted. I have been working on some home improvement projects, have been cleaning and organizing the house, working to earn some extra money for the wedding, and of course, working out a little more, and focusing on getting in great shape for the next time I get to see my man. I don't look at Igor's stats for the VSC anymore, it just turns my stomach. Instead, I just keep a little tally of the number of days I have waited, and even though i keep getting further and further AWAY from #1 on Igor's list, my little tally of days waited gets bigger everyday, which helps me remember I am getting closer each and every day to seeing my future husband.

Stay strong everyone, it will happen. It will happen. It will happen... right? Sheesh, this sucks. I mean, yes, IT WILL HAPPEN.

yes.gif We have little choice in the matter, really. I don't think we're any more patient than anyone else. I admit it can be very hard sometimes to sympathise with people who complain of a two or three month wait, but I just have to remind myself that people who have been waiting a lot longer are often very gracious and to take cues from them.

*nods* Once people hit the six-month mark I really start feeling for them, but until then I think people need to be patient. Obviously that is more difficult in cases where there is illness in the family or a pregnancy in progress, but even so... I think that getting stressed only hurts you in the long-run, so I think people need to be as calm as possible and focus on productive things that they can do like ensuring they are prepared for the stages following NOA2 so as to avoid further delay.

This is difficult though, especially when your significant other is feeling very down and anxious about the wait, but I too am taking my cues from the more patient members and am resolved to remain positive until I have reason to feel otherwise (e.g. if I become one of the unlucky ones that goes over six months).

Obviously, they have reduced the number of people processing K1's. Why this is happening is not known. At the current rate, I'm expecting at least a 12 month wait for my NOA2.

I mentioned in a previous thread that we should pool together and put a little pressure on the CSC. But, the members here remind me of the 3 monkey's.... see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. They don't want the stress involved in contacting the USCIS. Better to just close their eyes and wait.

Tomorrow, I have the day off. I'm planning to call the USCIS and try to find out what is happening. I'll start at the bottom of the ranks and speak with the Customer Service Rep. If I get stonewalled by them, I'll try to talk to a supervisor and then a manager. I expect this will not be easy, but I think I have the right to know what is happening. The USCIS is there to perform a service for us... the taxpayers who pay their salaries.

We aren't patient by choice. We wait because it's the only thing we can do.

Someone posted a theory in my Wake Up CSC thread that it has more to do with the website problems. It generally takes two-three weeks for people to get NOA2s in the mail. We started hearing about the USCIS website going on the fritz about the same time that the numbers suddenly dropped, that was about two or three weeks ago. So, in theory, if the USCIS website stopped being updated that would mean that people won't know that they were approved until the NOA2 arrives, which as previously stated, could take two-three weeks. Hopefully *crosses fingers* we'll start seeing a sudden increase in approvals in the next week as all of those theoretical NOA2s that have been done since the website went down arrive via snail-mail.

I'm keeping my hopes up because otherwise I'll go crazy...er. goofy.gif

^I wish you luck Steve. I've tried to speak with someone other than the customer reps when I call and was told , no I can't speak to an officer, they're "adjudicating". I have waited almost 6 months since filing, was sent an RFE for a paper I already sent , waited almost 3 weeks for them to post my received RFE to my case and resume processing, and was told on Tuesday it could be another 30-45 days for them to make a decision. What? unbelieveable! I assumed if they send an RFE the case has pretty much been looked at and they are missing one last bit before approval....30-45 days more? I am soooo mad...but feel like I am forced to do nothing, because nothing can be done....

...as for the theory that the CSC website isn't being updated....my update for receipt of RFE was added on April 9 and I was touched on the 16th because of a phone call....

Debby,

I agree with you and i do think that status are still getting updated .....hopefuuly you will not have to wait much longer

impatiently waiting for noa2. more than 4 months already unsure.gif

This is probably the worst time of year and year for K1s. We are hit by:

1. H1-B April 1st onslaught - 165000 applications for 85000 slots
2. Election 2008 Naturalization Pressures - need to have those citizens to vote for Obama/Hillary
3. Gonzalez Stepping Down - when the cats away, the government workers slack off

Its a Triple Whammy...even the VSC is hit.

The only hope there is is that whoever replaces Gonzalez wants to impress and kicks someones butt.
aravis227
Maybe we should pick a campaign (doesn't matter which one, as long as it's all to the SAME one) and send them a petition and letters promising that all of the USCs will vote for them, but ONLY if they get CSC caught up with VSC by the end of July. tongue_ss.gif

The USCIS director is appointed by the President, so I'm not sure I understand the reasoning that they pushing for Democratic votes.

You are correct, Igor's stats show a slow down at the VCS also. Could be they've shifted personal to process other types of applications and they will be shifted back to K1 and K3's later.

Not enough of a voting block to matter to them, there were only 33,190 K1s issued last year.

And I was being sarcastic about the Obama/Hillary thing. I'm sure that there is a ton of pressure to push through as many naturalizations as possible in order to allow these people to vote this year, whichever way they vote. Our fiances cant vote, so its lower priority. My point on the director is that, when the boss is out, the workers tend to slack as well. Plus, they will just say - well these delays will help test the strength of the relationships, a further test that they are "real". Course if the director really is appointed by the President (although he works for Chertoff) then thats a 4th reason, Bush may not wish to appoint anyone so close to an election, and they might throw in an "interim" director, who will see no benefit in kicking butt.
