You've got your case set up? Did you get a receipt number? If so, can you tell me how long from submiting it until you got your case number. I submitted mine on March 30th in Montreal. They said they sent it off the week of April 14th. And also, when I asked about time lines in Montreal, they told me between 4 and 6 months.

Yep it took about 2 weeks to get my case number from Vermont, but was told at Vancouver by the guy who interviewed me that as it was a fairly straight foreward waiver that it would be on the shorter side rather than 6/7 months but its not really down to the consulate its down to Vermont,so its been 5 weeks since interview and counting.

Be prepared for a long wait. Our interview was on October 27th. Receipt Date is 12/1. At the interview we was told 4-6 months. We called Montreal the other day and said we was at 6 months...they said...its taking 9-12 months now. As far as checking the status online. There is no 601 date in Vermont. Its a sit and wait game. Good luck. There are others here that have been waiting since last june and july and not heard anything either.

just out of curiosity, what was the waiver for? we are thinking that we might need one for a drug charge many many years ago (which was pardoned) and any helpful information would be awesome.

I got my police cert from u.k. and it had my offences on that total of about 11 but only 3 court appearances, the guy who interviewed me in Vancouver was only bothered about the most serious he told me that if it where not for that one I would have been granted a visa(everything happened 22years ago)due to the time scale involved,so it is the luck of draw when you go for interview, but I was prepared and had all my stuff ready to present at the interview as a time saver............although the wait goes on for my waiver!!!!!!!!!!!!! good.gif
