What a waste of money.....take $600 for nothing....N-400 is comming up,...and NOTHING on the I-751. I belive that this was a scam by the government.

Is there any way you can take this to court????
It's Melvin
You've "only" been waiting 7 months. Some of us have been waiting a year and more.

If you still haven't been approved after your NOA1 extension expires, and you're willing to pony up the $350 filing fee, you can file a petition for a writ of mandamus in federal court to force CIS's hand. That will take another 4-6 months even if you know what you're doing in federal court (or if you pay even more to an attorney to do it for you).

The way things are working with VSC now, the best you can count on is being approved before your NOA1 extension expires, which I'm pretty sure you will be.

One of the primary aspects in the original Constitution was the concept of "redress of grievances". Or, to petition the gov't over wrongdoings. Unfortunately, American is now a fascist dictatorship. The "justice department" (just us?) is in collusion with the corrupt administration and will do nothing to assist. Should you speak up too loudly, you will be put on the "terror database". Speak louder, and the police will beat you, tazer you, or maybe even kill you. If not, they toss you in jail for "assaulting a police officer" or if you are lucky you get thrown into a soviet style insane asylum because only crazy people think America is anything less then a glorious workers paradise.

I wouldn't trust a lawyer as far as I can throw one, because according (again) to the Constitution:

"If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive or retain any title of nobility or honour, or shall, without the consent of Congress accept and retain any present, pension, office or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them."

The problem with the above is, all lawyers are members of the "BAR", or "British Accredited Registry". Lawyers that pass "The BAR" are awarded the title of "Esquire" or "Shield Bearer", originating from the "Crown of the City of London". Were this a Commonwealth nation (UK, Australia, New Zealand, etc) you would have better luck. But this is America, where the gov't sees you (and treats you) as an enemy combatant and lawyers will only ask how much "justice" you can afford.

Hope that clarifies things.
Peter
So,

In other words, you're complaining about the "waste" of money and then trying to "waste" more money by taking it to court?

Yeah thats sounds logical!!! You're a winner now!!

Wait your turn kid. Everyone has to wait one way or another. At least you got some notices, some of us waiting didn't even get ANYT notice from the immigration. Be glad you at least god that.

Jenn!
Where did the OP complain about the wait?

I agree. The conditional card should be valid for three years instead of two.

Well, since this person mentioned the I-751 still in process while the N-400 can soon be filed, is an unspoken complaint of the wait.

I think there shouldnt' be a conditional card at all. It does seem to be way too many steps to get to the end of it all.

So the solution? File your citizenship and then later as a citizen fight to change it!

The I-751 right now can amount to little more than an immigrant tax, accept that and live with it - nothing you can do about it right now so might as well just look forward to the time when you can change it.

Well have you got $600 to just waste, then all of a sudden have to afford another $600+ for the N-400 when nothing has been heard of on the first $600 you just spent??? because now the I-751 has basically caught up with the N-400, which means another large amount of money to be spent.

And i sure hope that the N-400 isn't the same case.

Yeah others have been waiting a year, but every case is individual, and some people, if they really want to know about whats happening with their case, is to get a congressman/senator involved.

Maybe this is a silly question, because I am the USC and my fiance doesn't intend to file for citizenship, but: Isn't the I-751 to remove conditions from the 2 year card and receive a 10 year green card? If so, then you aren't required to file for citizenship right away, no? It seems that the choice to file for citizenship right away is one made by the LPR, not a scam by the government.

Of course it's frustrating. This whole process is frustrating. We filed last July and are just now getting our interview for the K1, while there are people who filed in January who will have their interview before us. It's just the way it works.

I'm not trying to be an a$$ just saying that no one is forcing you to file for citizenship. Though, I agree with Jomo's Girl, it should be a 3 year card. It's a lot of money at one time anyway, since the point from AOS to removing conditions is taking longer.

It's probably worth noting that up until 1986, there was no such thing as a conditional LPR for immigrant spouses of US citizens. Once you got your initial green card, that was it.

In 1986, however, there was an outcry about "marriage fraud" ostensibly supported by an INS survey showing that 30% or more of marriages from which immigrants obtained green cards were fraudulent. So Congress passed the Immigration Marriage Fraud Amendments that year requiring INS to grant green cards conditionally for a two-year period.

It later turned out that the INS survey was invalid and unreliable for several reasons, and that the number of fraudulent marriages was actually much lower, probably somewhere along the lines of one to two percent.

But all of that is academic now . . . .

In any event, a three-year card with the option of either removing conditions or going straight to citizenship (assuming such a thing is feasible at more than first blush) would require an act of Congress, not some rule change by CIS.

I think the true impetus behind this shakedown was the feminist knee-jerk response to the skyrocketing amount of K-series visas, and the advent of the domestic "marriage strike" (google it, its real).

With 70% of all divorces initiated by the female, blood banks reporting 30% paternity fraud, 90% of all child custody disputes in favor of the mother, and the rabidly anti-father "family court", the slaves (men) have begun to jump the fence and head for greener pastures.

Basically, feminism is communism. If there is one thing communists hate, its competition on level ground. Part 2 of the attack was the IMBRA fiasco that requires men to file a police background check before they can so much as email a lady overseas. A blatant attack on our Constitutional right to free association.

Should any group of men stand up and point out the 757% increase in female prison inmate population since the 1970's, then demand that all marriage licenses in America have a mandatory requirement for background checks for females, the feminist shrieking would be monumentally ear shattering.

The foreign wife issue has the potential to "go viral", and the feminists know it. When I walk down the street with my foreign bride, men constantly stop and stare, and you can see the gears working in their heads. "How did this fat ugly SOB get such a hot wife?". Then they hear her accent and think, "Ah! He got a foreign wife...maybe I can too!".

Anyhow, if the U.S. gov't were SERIOUS about "fraudulent immigration", they would start with the 35+ million illegals tearing our middle class to shreds. But then again, you cant have communism without a huge peasant underclass. I just hope to be out of America before the "Plan of San Diego" kicks off. If you don't know what that plan is, here's a hint: "Every Norteamericano over sixteen years of age shall be put to death; and only the aged men, the women, and the children shall be respected"

Gulskjegg
I back up my assertions with cold hard numbers.

Would you care to do likewise, or at least refute the evidence?

Or is your post just a hit and run with no substance?

Either way is fine with me, but the facts stand on their own, but here's a parting thought.

"In her article The Planned Destruction of the Family, Erin Pizzey touches on the fact that the rhetoric and tactics of radical feminists are firmly rooted in communist ideological traditions (including terrorism - that includes terrorist bombings). In my mind the tactics and strategies of the radical feminists differ little from those used by the Nazis in the twenties and the early thirties to squelch their political opponents in their quest for power."
Jenn!
Erin Pizzey has also said, "Men are gentle, honest and straightforward. Women are convoluted, deceptive and dangerous."

I think it's too bad that being a misogynist doesn't disqualify one as a petitioner under IMBRA.

Lets put this in context first, then drive it home.

What is COGNITIVE DISSONANCE:

Cognitive dissonance is a psychological state that describes the uncomfortable feeling between what one holds to be true and what one knows to be true. In academic literature, the term refers to attempts to reduce the discomfort of conflicting thoughts, by performing actions that are opposite to one's beliefs. [These responses include denial, attack the messenger, etc...]

"The Women's Caucus endorses Marxist-Leninist Socialist thought." -- Robin Morgan, Sisterhood is Powerful (Page 597)

"Sexuality is to feminism what work is to Marxism." -- Catharine A. MacKinnon, Toward a Feminist Theory of the State, 1989, First Harvard University Press (Page 3)

"Feminism, Socialism, and Communism are one in the same, and Socialist/Communist government is the goal of feminism." -- Catharine A. MacKinnon, Toward a Feminist Theory of the State, 1989, First Harvard University Press (Page 10)

"When I was in college it was the McCarthy era and that made me a Marxist." -- Gloria Steinem

"Overthrowing capitalism is too small for us. We must overthrow the whole...patriarchy." -- Gloria Steinem

""Like Marxism, feminism can explain everything from advertising to religion by following its single thread, the oppression of women." -- Carol Iannone, The Feminist Confusion (Page 149)

Please note that I have chosen established feminist leaders as examples. The "movers and shakers" of feminism. Catherine A. MacKinnon is a University of Michigan law professor, Gloria Steinem is of course the editor of Ms. magazine, and Robin Morgan is a noted feminist poet and activist.

Were you to go back in time and ask the average Nazi soldier what he stood for and why he supported Hitler, he would say he stood for goodness, right, and a strong Germany. Likewise, ask the average Soviet soldier the same thing and he would say he was fighting to defend his Motherland from aggression and that he was also good and right. Ask a feminist what they stand for, and they will say equality, freedom, and other flowery but vague concepts...that only apply to females.

Hindsight being 20/20, we now see that what these philosophies (Nazi, Communist, Feminist) boil down to is, "Were going to get what we want, and we will destroy entire civilizations and kill millions if need be."

Sounds like you have actually never been living in other countries (especially Ukraine). What you are writing is true for most countries, but for other countries (I thnik) it is more of a norm. US is not a paradise. But comparing to other countries, it is less corrupt and people have more control over gov.

Woh, Gulskjegg! You are impressive!! Great analytical and verbal skills!!! Impossible to argue-you back up every statement. Regarding foreign wife issue-foreign wife is so hot because she had to compete since early age for male attention (boss, husband, etc on all levels) in mucho culture societe. She had to push her sexuality; otherwise, she would not only get husband but not even get normal job (and if she has never been married-means she is a big time loser even if she has great job, etc). Cultures are different, expectations also. Take Russia-even self-sufficient, better-than-husband educated and salaried wife still feels dependendent on husband (who might be an alcoholic and abuser-not so rare situation). American woman (aka feminist) would divorce but E. European, Latino. Asian still would feel that she has failed (woman's responsibility to preserve family at no matter what cost) and keep postponing. Anyway, all this has nothing to do with I-751. Just want to say-I enjoyed reading your posts-very original.

I am American. I do not want to be "less corrupt" then Europe. I want to be "not corrupt at all". They pay almost $6USD per gallon for gasoline in the UK but that does not mean I will be happy to pay $4USD for gasoline in America.

I want to pay $2USD per gallon for gasoline, like I did before the Iraq war.

I am a typical Russian and I love Russia. But I don't think than any reasonable Russian would even dream to be "not corrupt at all". "Less corrupt" is already a huge achievement. And corruption is not just at gov-school, hospital, police etc-it is just part of the game. If you don't want to play it-you don't get anything basic (like normal treatment, grades you deserve, etc; to get a good job-you have to pay a bribe...).It is a luxury even to hope not to be corrupt. There is a level of corruption in US; we all read about human rights discrimination here...but it is not comparable to other parts in the world. Maybe Americans does not have great control over gov (in this case, there is no control in any country), but AVERAGE American does not encounter such hardship in everyday life situations like in other parts of the world. The system here works much more smothly-mean, reasonable expectations are usually met (in many aspects of life of an average American). Try to figure the outcome in,lets say, Russia-bribes/protectionism/whom-you-know would determine the outcome (the system gets adjusted for a particular person/situation, not vise versa). PS: I don't mind to pay $6 per gallon for gasoline if salary gets adjusted for inflation.PS2: There is no paradise on Earth but we still hope

Why did I marry a woman located over 4,000 miles away, and in a different country? Really don't have the answer to that, thousands of woman around here, we just happen to meet and hit it off. Was even dating another woman off and on for about six months, maybe for something just to do, but when I met Connie, wow! My whole life was changed with a very strong both platonic and physical attraction. She kind of likes me too, LOL, 6' 2" 210 pound guy with baby blue eyes. Equally important, my family loves her and her family loves me.

She is not accustomed to the extra woman rights we have in this country, but likes it. Told her, if she wants to buy a new car, go ahead, she can put it in her name and even sell it if she wants to, and is under no obligation to even let me drive it. She had bad experiences in her country, with her ex, what was his was his, and what was hers was also his. Strange having a gal that doesn't like automatic transmissions, she couldn't bring her car here so I purchased her a new one. Yeah, but put it in both of our names to make the I-751 people happy. She doesn't understand with our super highways why we have a 55 mph speed limit. What can I say? I don't understand it either!

Told her, my home is her home, and that's the way it should be, told her to decorate it anyway she wants, except for a couple of areas that is my space, so I gave her a 90% vote in choosing her decor, but I do the buying and hire the contractors, (me). I did draw the line on one thing, we wanted a dog, her preference was a black lab. Even put a deposit on a pup, but at the last minute, I just couldn't give in, got an import German Shepherd instead and she gave in on that one. Derik loves here and she loves him, and she found out that he will give his life for her, you don't find that in a black lab. Ha, our dog as two holes, she took over with the one in the front for feeding sticking me with the one in the rear for cleanup. But at least it's a Shepherd.

In engineering terms, the I-751 is an overkill, totally redundant and unnecessary, while abuses may have occurred back in 1986, two things were done, the first was a far more extensive background check and history of the US citizen, then that crazy I-751 thing. The extensive background check reduced the applications to import a spouse from a couple of million to a tad over a hundred thousand. That and the prison terms and fines should have been enough.

I was not seeking a mate overseas, ha, after my terrible divorce, said never again, but it's a miracle to meet the right person, ha, would have married her if she lived next door. Also was one of the very few in WI to get full physical custody of my kids, that was made into an expensive battle by my ex's attorneys. But one thing I had in my favor, my kids did not want to live with their mom, to me, that should have been enough, but our legal system finds other means to clean a guy out. One thing I am in favor of, is open season on hunting down attorneys.

Please try to understand something about America. I will try to say this in a way you can understand. In America, we started with something called the Constitution. The first sentence of this Constitution says "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union...". Please understand it does not say "a less corrupt union". Why has America become so strong? Not because we are "less corrupt" then Russia, or Europe, or Africa but because Americans wanted to be honest and "more perfect". When you talk about Russian bribes, do you understand that when the American police pull you over in your car, YOU ARE PAYING A BRIBE TO THE MAFIA. Why? Because a license only gives you the ability to do something that is normally illegal. Is driving illegal? No! So, you are paying a bribe to the mafia (police, same thing, just as it is in Russia) for a "license", you are paying a bribe to the insurance company that charges you 200% more then it actually costs to have coverage, you pay a bribe to the state in the form of taxes for roads that have been paid for 10 times over, its all bribes.

Try to understand that if I take a mafia thug and put him in a police uniform, he is still a mafia thug. A politician is the same thing. A secretutka is still a whore.

I lived in Brno, Czehia for a year, and Kheson, Ukraine for a year, military service in Kuwait and Iraq, and vacations to South America. You sound like a typical Russian. Please tell me why you think Americans have control over their government.

NickD swerved into something here. When American men go overseas, women are attracted to them. Meanwhile in America, we have Senator Maria Cantwell (50+ year old lesbian that has never been married) creating the IMBRA legislation that effectively limits the options American men have in finding a bride overseas. If men like NickD are such horrible predatory scum, as Cantwell and NickD's ex-wife would content...how is it NickD now has a happy marriage? In the Western nations, females have turned man-hating into an art form. But if American men are such filth, why don't American females simply go somewhere to find better men? The best feminists can hope for is the growing trend of "female sex tourism". Its gotten so big, its been covered in Reuters. http://www.reuters.com/article/oddlyEnough...=22&sp=true

In my travels overseas, I have asked foreign men their opinions on American and western women. The comments were universally negative, while amusing, but should not be repeated. But when I ask foreign ladies if they would like to find an American husband, most say yes with great emphasis.

On the issue is divorce and lawyers, I see it this way. As with drug addicts or murderers, you have to have the desire. Drugs do not run up and hop into your mouth, and guns don't discharge when someone walks in front of them. Likewise, any female raised in a feminist dominated nation (such as America) will have a latent hatred for men. Mostly because all her days, she has seen every female denigrate every man, much the same way Russian men drink and beat their wives or girlfriends. It just becomes part of the culture. Everyone does it. So the moment that American female has a bad day, or feels to need to "assert her independence", the target is usually the nearest man. So don't blame the lawyers, even though most are scum, blame the person "pulling the trigger" as it were.

Proof of this concept is the INS report that showed a 30% divorce rate when American men marry a foreign lady, vs. the 70% divorce rate when an American guy married and American female. If the problem isn't American men, and its not foreign ladies...what (or who) IS the problem?

Sounds like American feminists made our (foreign wifes) life easier. My husband can share the same as NickD story about ex and child custody battle (by the way, in Russia average man would not even think about getting any custody-children are womens' sole responsibility; good if he would pay some child support).
American women have greater expectations (if she feels sad-she needs to be culdled; if she wants to be independent-husband has to understand etc). I feel that we (foreign wifes) are already happy when we get some understanding, some attention. What for American woman is not enough, for us is too much (when my husband prepares dinner-it is almost equal to getting a star from sky-my father would wait for mother to make even tea and would consider degenerating for a man to make even eggs, despite the fact that mother had more education and better salary; more sad that mother would think the same way).
But I would not blame American women-they are products of American culture. And you guys had an input into this culture. (but looks like American culture is spreading all over the world-thanks to Hollywood. Soon enough all woman will be what you call "feminists")

No, when Russian women start acting too feminist, American men will start going to Brazil, or Japan, or the Philippines, or anywhere the women are not feminist.

It hardly matters, as America only has a few more years left. Soon, the entire American system will collapse just like the Soviet Union did. What very few jobs, if any, remaining will go to men. Another group of men will walk away from the cities and into the woods where they will hunt deer to live.

The feminists in America will be left with nothing, and the men they have spent 40 years pouring hatred on will abandon them to their fate. Only women that value men and treat them with respect will be cared for and protected.

I will be watching it all happen from outside of America with a bowl of popcorn and some beer...with my Ukrainian wife of course smile.gif

Even Roman empire had collapsed smile.gif You ll be treated almost like a king in Ukraina...being an American. Any western foreigner has such an image in those lands...almost like with a halo over head smile.gif It is a tradition in former Soviet Union-we feel that any American or European is superior to us. (while we are superior to Africans and Asians-but black Americans are Americans not Africans-so, dif treatment). This mentality is a leftover from Soviet culture and Iron Curtain. Globalisation has changed it but not for all.
Maybe Japanese women would be the last to get feministish, but sooner or later everybody would be Amerikanised. Globalization...
