Tim and Glyn
Hello there!

This is my first post here, but I have been lurking and reading on this site for a while. biggrin.gif

We are very excited. We just found out that Glyn's visa interview is May 15. She is going to to St. Luke's to get her medical exam next week.

The embassy website says that she should bring her passport and a 2x2 photo of herself (http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf)

She thinks that she needs to bring everything else to St. Luke's that she would bring to the visa interview. She said she read this somewhere.

Can anyone verify what is needed?

Thank you for your help!

Congrats on having the interview sched and Welcome to VJ! good.gif

She just needs to bring what was stated on the packet 4 (the link you gave is the packet 4) and if she have the email confirmation from the call center, it will also help if she could have it printed and carry with her.

Best of luck and God speed!

hello! she doesn't need to bring all the docs for the visa interview. it's a medical exam. aside from all the above mentioned items, make sure she brings 3 pcs 2x2 passport photo, printout of appointment letter and her passport. i suggest she check her body and face for chicken pox marks so she can identify these to the immunization doctor, that would lessen the immunization shots that would be given her. she should bring something to eat like crackers and water since it is difficult to get out of line while you are waiting for your turn. also nice to bring something to read or pray the rosary (if she is religious)....good luck and welcome to the family!!

hey there people I just finished my first day of the medical and I was kinda worried i might be referred to a psyche test even if the doctor was kinda nice. Well I feel like very lost today anyways thanks for the help again.

Hi,
Welcome to VJ. Yes, these are the list of the requirements that Riza mentioned, she have to provide this for them to entertain her with the medical. However, make sure that your fiance has other valid i.d on herself as passport will be left at St. Lukes in her medical and St. Lukes will be the one who will forward the passport and medical result to US Embassy. On the day of her interview she needs to present a valid i.d to enter US embassy for her entry pass. Good Luck.

why do you think that you will be referred for psyche test? did the doctor write it in your paper?

Check out Section 4.7 which discusses St. Lukes, and review the last paragraph that covers "What does the beneficiary need to take to the medical exam." I would also recommend reviewing the entire guide.

Cheers!!!

Thanks Sheriff! This is why I asked the question. In the packet it says: "When you go to SLMCEC for medical examination, you must bring your passport and one photo (size: 2” x 2”)."

In your guide, it says: "(1) medical exam fee (payment accepted in pesos only), (2) passport (SLMEC will keep the passport and delivery it to the USE along with the medical exam results, so make a copy of the passport for your records), and (3) three 2x2 passport photos as stated on the DOS website"

I don't know what to know is correct (one says one photo, the other 3 photos). I have "heard" different things but wanted to verify with those who have gone through the process.

Please help me discern this.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply! This is helpful information too. What is considered a valid ID besides a passport?

Thanks for the information. I talked to Glyn and she said that she did have chicken pox before and has some scars from it. This is good advice to avoid the extra shot.

Thanks for the idea about the rosary too. We are both Catholic and pray the rosary often. I know God is with us during this time. biggrin.gif

Thanks.

Beneficiaries should obtain additional passport photos anyway IMO because as soon as they arrive in the US they have to complete the Adjustment of Status paperwork, which also requires passport photos. I like to kill as many birds with one stone as possible, but of course, this is just my opinion (and what we did).

Cheers!!!

As far as I read from posts, SLEC requires 2. But to be sure, ask your fiancee to bring extra 2x2 photos.

Postal ID
SSS
Voter's ID
(there are other valid IDs that other posters can suggest)

Postal and Voter's IDs are the easiest to procure. She should have SSS ID if she's working.

Thanks for this information. She told me that she has no other form of ID. So today she went to the Postal office to apply for a Postal ID. She put in a for a rush and will get it on Tuesday.

Thanks again for your help!
