Plus, I bet you'll get your refund sooner than you think!

My mom is bringing my T4 and tax package next month. I only worked for a few months last year. The only thing I am worried about is- I said no to getting GST the year before and they sent cheques anyway. I cashed them. I don't know what I will need to pay back.

Yep... though they were quite efficient in slamming me with a "you owe us GST money" letter...

which was as bogus as a lot of the people in OT.

Did anyone ask when they start paying you interest on your money?
So........my dad screwed up and sent in my T1 saying that my total income was the same as my taxable income...which isn't right.
So basically, as of right now, instead of me getting my $1100 refund, CRA is saying I owe them $514! They also stated that I didn't qualify for the entire federal tax credit, which I do under Section 217 (I swear someone didn't even look at my return properly...they corrected the wrong info!)

I have to laugh about this. I need to send them a letter to amend my return so they can fix this. Now I get to wait even longer. Oh well...my $4000 US return refund and $1200 Stimulus package will help ease the pain

They will pay daily compound interest after the
latest date of the following:
- May 31st
- 31 days after your tax filing has been filed (received by CRA)
- The day after you overpaid your taxes.
