Got my notice for Biometrics for May 22nd. But I have to travel to Canada. The letter says I can go on Wednesday of following week as long as I complete it before August. Has anyone not gone to the Biometrics appointment without canceling it and gone for it the week after?

NOA did not say anything for biometrics..
called uscis, IO said that
23 april 08 FBI name check started

My understanding is that FBI polls out the entire file for every applicant from the National Record Center from the day 1 we enter US. (IO conversation).

I am so far having the same experience with you. It maybe to early for me to worry, but just want to share if it happens to be the same path. I still have not received a FP letter. Many post members here have already gotten their FP appoinments just after a few days their NOA arrived. My NOA (05/15/08) says nothing about FP or Biometric just notified that I should expect the date and place for the interview within 180 days.

Is there anyone else having the same experience with us?

I got a letter today with an interview schedule for July /14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can not believe how fast it's been the process ,here is my status:

04/14/2008- sent application
04/15/2008- Received - Delivery confirmation signature at Nebraska Service
04/18/2008- Check cashed
04/26/2008- NOA1 expect to be notified within 240 days
04/28/2008- NOA2 firgerprint appointment letter received
05/07/2008- Biometic appointment
06/02/2008- NOA3-Interview on July/14/08!

Now I really have to study those questions!

11/17/2006 - received CONDITIONAL GREEN CARD
3/7/2008 - send n400 by mail from Kuwait
3/31/2008 - USCIS received it
4/15/2008 - NOA
5/21/2008 - RECEIVED notice for INTERVIEW

Thanks! I must admit I'm surprised at how fast that went. The NOA date on the interview letter says "May 30th", 2 days after my biometrics. I can't complain.

Is it just the Chicago office that is giving interview's so fast?

I think Seattle is slow. They have not touched my file since BEFORE I did my biometrics.

NEWARK (VSC) is fast . I sent my N400 application in 04/05/2008 , got my FP done in 04/29/2008 and I received my IL yesterday . The IL is dated 06/02/2008. My interview is for 07/29/2008.

I also got my interview notice. It's scheduled for July 17th. I will update the list with interview dates of all people.

Chicago is actually pretty slow compared with other DOs in Midwest. Fast DOs I have been seeing such as Ohio, Milwaukee WI, Tallahasee FL and Atlanta.

Just to let you all know that I passed !!!!The whole interview was about 15 minutes she spent most of the time asking the questions on the N-400 that I sent ,then she went to ask me the 5 question and then told me to write "They are a very happy family" !!Then she gave me a letter sayong that I passed and said that it could be around September my Oath ,it could be before but likely September and that I should receive a letter 3 weeks before.
The questions were ,the minimum vote age, when do we elect for president, who is the vice president ,how many stars are in our flag and I don't remeber the last one.Thank you all and I will update when I get my letter.

I had my interview today in Baltimore, MD.
Arrived at 8:30 for 8:40 appointment.
They were running behind so I was seen at 9:15 and was done by 9:30AM
I wanted to change my name because I got married so I wanted to keep my maiden name as my middle name before applying for N400 but I decided against that when she said it would be another month or so. So I just opted to take my hubby's name and leave it at that.

She went through the application really fast and suddenly she asked me when the constitution was written and that's when I realized that we were at the test part. I wrote a line and read a line and then she checked off her approval and stamped here and there and said she will recommend me for the noon oath ceremony today!
Oath ceremony was running late because they were trying to squeeze in a couple more people who had just completed their interviews. We were 50 people. Once it got rolling it was quick... we handed in our green cards and the oath notice, they played anthem while we stood, we pledged oath allegiance and the oath to country, they played video of president welcoming new citizens and they handed out each naturalization certificate and a flag. And then we were free to leave
The whole process took 3 months!!!

Congrats Katulututu!! I wish Chicago DO had oath on the same day!
