Hi,
Does anyone know if I will need a Canadian police certificate again in this immigration process? In my nervousness at the interview, I handed over my original and all my copies and they didn't return anything to me.
The reason I'm asking is that it is so easy to go and get one while I'm still in Toronto. But, I understand once you're a resident of the U.S. it could become more complicated and time consuming -- a friend of mine had to get fingerprints and it took her almost a year. If I need one, I can just quickly get another one before I move.
Any thoughts?

Even if you did they would be most likely "out of date" anyways.

We are now in the process of getting my wife's ten year greencard, and so far we have not had to get any more police reports. She is also from Toronto.
The only way it could happen is if they cannot get a read on your fingerprints, then you have to show police reports.

If you have a charge of some type on the record I would get an extra copy now along with extra copies of any related court documents. If the report is clean, then no, you shouldn't require another copy.
