How tired are you of seeing op-eds posted against the candidates? When was the last time you read it and changed your mind?

I'm completely sick of them. I'm sick of hearing/reading the names Clinton, Obama, and McCain. I'm tired of the smug postings, the inane attacks, and the Jonestown-esque fervor that some people seem to have for certain candidates. I'm for Obama, but I'm not fanatical about it. I just think he's the best candidate.

It depends on who is posting them. There are some members who are unmoveable in their opinions of the candidates, but they are a definite minority here, IMO. I think most people here are aware just who those people are and pretty much dismiss each political op/ed piece they make. There's a lot of great opinions out there in print though that I think are thought provoking and persuasive. It's a matter of separating the chaff from the wheat with regard to which pieces are worth reading, but ultimately it's up to the discretion of everyone here whether they want to read it or not.

Yep - the sheer number of threads is just ridiculous. And "spamming" was right on the mark.

That's just what I think. I am equally annoyed by Obama spamming and Hillary spamming. Hillary is not my candidate but I feel very protective of her as a female candidate. I see sexist remarks about her everywhere and they upset me quite a bit.

Here's a novel idea, given that you're the resident "writer" in these forums....Why not start topics of your liking, **YOURSELF**, replete with the level of detail and "substance" that you are apparently complaining is lacking in *other peoples threads*?
Are your fingers broken?
If you want to discuss
hauty taughty political issues, those that you think important, then by all means create some of your own threads to do so!
Frankly, I don't see the purpose of threads/polls like this as you're complaining about posts that you yourself say you don't like, and seeking consensus amongst others of like mind, but as we all know, you don't have to participate in those topics that don't interest you.
Simply pass them by?
