Hey folks. I know this is really strange but Star Wars is on TV now, and it features Jabba The Hutt as many of you know.
I also had recently downloaded many Russian Posters of the Revolutionary days in Russia. The picture below is from 1921 and the best I can translate it is, "Ruler peace- capital the gold idol". But of course, the strange thing is the idol itself. Is it my imagination or did George Lucas and his gang rip off the form of Jabba the Hutt from this picture?

Maybe seanconnery is right in another post today, when he asked if we are all getting bored waiting for our K1's to go through!! blink.gif

The ruler of world-capital is a golden idol/cult-figure.

My little brother is totally obsessed with Star Wars right now. biggrin.gif I don't know how much George Lucas knows about the Russian Revolution, but I know he cobbled together Star Wars from numerous sources, so hey, it's possible! smile.gif

Zhabba is a Russian word for toad.

Just yesterday my wife said, "Zhabba" while we were watching AFV and a little toad came on. It clicked in my head, "hey, wait a minute... maybe that's where Lucas got Jabba the Hutt."

That poster does bear a striking resemblance and it's quite possible he saw that poster and asked someone what it was. They could've said something like zhabba zolota which could've been Englishized as jabba the hutt. Who knows. George Lucas is about as cool as L. Ron Hubbard. I'll give Lucas the upper hand though because at least he had Ewoks jumping up and down instead of Tom Cru..... wait a minute... same thing.

I'm sure there's a Star Wars buff out there that knows exactly where, when, and how Lucas came up with Jabba the Hutt and all the rest of them.

Just a little Star Wars related trivia......... The actor who played Wicket (the Ewok) also played the lead role in which other "little sorcerer" movie?
