OMG OMG OMG. One time I was in Lubbock when it snowed in April.... but isn't it verrrrry late in the year for snow even up there in the frozen north ?

Yes, WOM...that foul, filthy four letter word SNOW! Oh, just when we were getting a nice warm up, too. No, it is fairly normal up here. Last year I remember I could not plant anything until the second week of May because it was just too darn cold. Bleh, Michigan. So unpredictable!

i was up way too early too but i think that was due to the fact that i was sleeping like a baby before 9pm last night.

And what's with this snow??????????do we need to bring out the snow shovels? i'm just sick of this weather!

I was up at 5am bc my husbands friends couldn't remember the time difference thing and kept calling from Egypt - repeatedly I was at work by 6am bc I couldn't get back to sleep the benefits of working in an industry that never sleeps

I'm trying to decided if I actually want to be productive the rest of the day, or just lurk around VJ but I guess I should at least finish my current project before I make that decision

inshaAllah i am taking Egyptair and it is one way trip and if they gave me hard time about it at the airport i will get round one if not that will be ok

I have a random question for you guys.... what is the best airline for a ticket to Egypt? My hubby needs to go back in June, but the ticket prices so far are huge!

if he will take it from new york Egypt air will be the best for him as it is non-stop and also the lowest price but it go high in the summer if u booked it one month be4 it will be cheaper

Hahahahha yes this is apparently some cultural dictate -- to ring your phone off the hook -- even at all hours of the night (evidently without the faintest clue of what time it is overseas, or even the tiniest curiosity or inclination to find out before dialing.) It's ring ring ring ring RING RING RING RING RING RING RING RING until someone is finally rousted out of their sound sleep to grumpily answer. Then you get to find out that there is no urgency at all behind the call -- it's like "hiiiiiiiiii.... what are you doing ?"

Hi all! Happy Sunday! Yesterday was a good day too and I didn't say Hi then either (well not that I remember, maybe I did and I forgot, too lazy to look), so retro-Shabbat Shalom.

Well today I have lots of work to do and hopefully I'll get it done. Tonight is a cold snap--supposed to be 26, and then stop freezing for the year. I hope it doesn't get to 26 though. I moved the plants inside just in case.

A few nights ago Ammar called home and was disconnected and I was sleeping... I get this call at 4am with "hello?" over and over and finally, I hung up. I just didn't feel like saying hello more than 6 times without any end in sight to the exchange at 4am. I figured it was one of his sisters, and I knew he was probably trying to call her back anyway. When woken up, I don't always have the best thoughts and manners lol.

was just at the grocery store for two hours with the hubby...man, we needed alot of stuff...I thought i was gonna go into labor 45 minutes thru....everyone walking by has to look at me and ask... are you ok...or they comment, any day now...or just ignorant ones who will mumble....Damn or....that looks like it hurts....ummm yea, it dont feel good....lol...

anyways..i still have a house that needs dusting, floors that need cleaning, and laundry to do....i need to run to the meat market, get some steaks, beef ribs, etc....we like to bbq....and still get C batteries for this gliding/rocking bassinet thingy my sis bought for the baby.....tomorrow is week 39 at the doctor...i really wish for some change....crossing my fingers....

I remember these sayings...once I was in Walmart and in one trip 5 people walked up to me. One old man turned around said oh my God!!! I thought something was wrong with him. He said don't sneeze or you will pop! I had to laugh but I think I heard everybody's labor stories that day at Walmart! With the cleaning situation...it really sounds like you might be starting to nest. Best wishes and I hope to hear that you have a healthy Zaid very soon!! That 8 weeks goes by fast so enjoy every minute of it. I have only two weeks left and I am dreading it. Now I will leave my fiance' and my baby to go back to work.

Just so u know, I'm sticking my tongue out at all of u who have snow and aren't sharing it with me.

I went to the store yesterday and bought some new clothes. About 5 shirts, 1 pair of jeans, and 1 pair of pillatso (sp) type pants. Spent around 100 dollars so I don't think that was too bad. I soooooooooooooo needed some clothes for the summer. I didn't have any left that didn't have holes from years of washing and re-washing, etc etc. yay me!

We went out to a restaurant today that was super fantastic! We sat outside and had arabian bbq..lamb, chicken, beef, hummus, cucumber/yogurt, bread, hot tea...it was AWESOME. Then to top it off we lounged and had 2 apple argeelah there which was just heavenly! Then we stopped at an arabic video store and got a movie for 2nite and Hisham 3Abbas' new music cd. *sigh* good times

Now I can just hang out for the rest of the day, eat some ice cream, watch "the water horse", do some laundry....and just enjoy having a good day for the first time in what seems like forever. If I could get rid of this nagging phlegmmified cough it would be perfect.
