Shrewdie...when you contact USCIS to find out about your petition, what is it that they are saying to you? It is absolutely ridiculous that things are taking so long! They don't even care that they are ruining people's lives....
Well, they say "you are still within our processing times" because they havent moved forward past July 2007 in over THREE months...
Rumor is that they are shipping some I-130 petitions to CSC.... who knows.
My congressman cant get any answers from them either and said to wait for 6 months past the NOA1 date (which will really be 9 months for me) and then they can take formal/legal action
whatever that means.

So I noticed that alot of the non-immigrant, and immigrant visas are scheduled on either a Tuesday or Thursday. I thought that Kingston was done with this scheduling since NVC took over, but apparently not. Most all of you who have had interviews in the recent months have been on a Tuesday and maybe one or 2 on a Thursday. I know that VJ only is a handful of visa applicants but at least we can guesstimate that our interview will be a tuesday or thursday.
Also I know that the NVC "says" they schedule interviews during the 2nd week of every month but it seems that most yardies were getting info on their dates closer to the end of the month. So I am assuming many will start to hear news towards next week.
I would love to get an interview during the week of Indenpendence Day. Actually I would love for my husband to be here for that day...but thats a long wish.
So here's sprinkling good luck dust for some more interview news in the coming weeks.

I've also done the DHL tracking since May 6th or so and there has been a Kingston delivery everyday, each weighing between 1-7lbs. So it seems there's some action going on. I know Kingston is a busy post but man! The island is the size of my county. I can not beileve there are that many people applying for K's or CR/IR visas.

So i called NVC to see what is going on with my case since i still didn't hear a case complete...i spoke with an operator this morning who told me that it is still processing and that someone put a comment on my case yesterday stating for an officer to retrieve from mailroom....

... are you flipping kidding me....she said to give it 5 to 15 business days from the date of them flagging it to hear a result...

...you really got to be flipping kidding me... I know i am going to have to wait a while for an interview since kingston is way backed up but i just want the comfort of knowing my flipping case is complete...

...anyway back to another flipping gripe... kingston taking so long to give an interview date... it looks to me once your case is complete its taking 3mos for an interview date rather than two... Looking at VJ member Trulo as an example...his case completed on 03.07.08 didn't get an interview date until 04.30.08 and it is for 06.03.08... so to me it seems Forbes, Kishmar, and Tash whose case were completed in April will most likely get an interview date by the ending of this month early June for a July interview...and case complete in May, Marilta will probably get her interview date by early/middle of June and get an interview for early August...Hopefully my case gets completed by the end of this month then i can expect a date late June or early July for a late August interview date...just my assumptions... I know...too much time on my hand at work...

Augh! I hope I don't have to wait til August. But we'll see. With how small Jamaica is its ridiculous that the interviews dates are so backed up. I an tell this is a result of bad organization. Even overly busy embassy's like Manilla and HCMC are moving faster than Kingston.
Well your DS230 is still on regular schedule. I don't know how mine and a few others got done so fast...that was not the norm. Cause it used to be about 2 weeks from NVC receive to approve DS230. So you'll still be done before June. And it seems that all June dates are gone. But July is still open so we'll see if they fill up before getting around to me. Gotta keep praying about it.

Yeah i am still within schedule but just seeing everyone's case complete btwn two to five days just makes me think like what is wrong with my case why i am not in that bunch...i called again...don't know why i keep doing that to myself because they told me the same story that my case has not been reviewed...

....hopefully by next week coming i hear something...hopefully too that by me always calling does not jeopardize my case...

...I am going to do the letter thing and write to NVC and Kingston Embassy to request a date...we should all try...I don't think it will hurt...plus i think it will show that kingston takes to dag on long to assign dates that we need to push the issue...as soon as i hear a case complete i am going to do it...not sure what reasoning i am going to use but i will sure find one...I am trying to aim for July 31st...would love to be with my hubby during JA independence day...he was just telling me today that him and his friends were planning to go to Negril or Ochi and hit the beaches during the day and nightclubs at night...now i definitely need to be there....

That sounds like a real fun time for Independence day. I've never been there during that time. My husbands fron Negril so thats like stomping grounds for us. Going there any day is great to me. I actually like it more when its less tourists cause it can get really busy in Negril, but july is a perfect time to go there. I am hoping for early July near US Independence day so i can take time off work around the holiday.

If you are not going to use co-sponser or bank statements and just your pay stubs and W2 I say use the I864EZ...
This what you will need:
A copy of your individual Federal income tax return, including W-2s for the most recent tax year, or a statement
and/or evidence describing why you were not required to file. Also include a copy of each and every Form 1099,
Schedule, and any other evidence of reported income. You may submit this information for the most recent three tax
years , pay stub(s) from the most recent six months, and/or a letter from your employer if you believe any of these
items will help you qualify. So you have your 2007, all W2s for 2007...its optional to submit the other year taxes so don't worry about that...do submit your past 6mos...you could do past 3mos too if thats all you have...i did 6mos worth of pay stubs myself...and i also submitted an employer letter stating my current status and stuff...this is the link for the I864EZ...

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864EZ.pdfthanks jgay. thats what I planned to do. I mean, we have to write our income for those last three years anyway on the form.
I prepared my 2007 1040, my w-2s, last 6 months paystubs and contract letter from last year. I dont have one for this year yet b/c they havent finalized budgets for the next school year and they always do that first since our salaries are on there. I will probably have it before I need it (hope not though!!)
think that will be okay?

Kingston 2 times and each time they say they do not have a file with my number, nor can they request my file from NVC....NVC will send the appointment letter. Then NVC says that they have my file and it is complete an awaiting interview from KNG, an I will be notified as soon as it is assigned. I feel like they are both waiting for the other to make a move. Ugh! I think August is our month ladies...it has to be.

I hope so...when I was arguing with the supervisor about the mistake they made about missing info (my birth certificate and marriage certificate) I was telling her that because of this mistake I am going to be pushed further into the back of the line and everyone whose docs were after mine will get in front...she said no that won't happen because your case stays in the same place...meaning if your number comes up and you are not complete then they will just skip you but if your case is complete by the time they get to your number they will assign you a date...your number is the ten digit number from your case number(of course)...so we all know that 2008 is the first four...the next three is the day count in the calendar year your case number was assigned plus 500...and the last three is the number of cases they received that day....so that is the order....and she told me that KNG only gives them a specific amount for each type of visas once a month and that they only give a handful for IV....I guess because they only do those twice a week...which is totally unfair...so the last VJ memeber to get an interview for CR-1 was Trulo and his case was completed March 07...and he got his date for June 03...I'm not sure if anyone want to do this but I was thinking since we know there is somewhat of an order at NVC when it comes to assigning an interview date and its not random if we list our case numbers we might be able to determine how much space is between each other and kind of get a rough idea on when we can get a date...but we would need Trulo to give his case number to us so we can know what number they were up to...and then estimate how many slots Kingston gives for CR-1 visa...and also guess how many cases might be done in a day...we might have too many missing variables but its just an idea...I work as a financial analyst so this is what I do all day...analyze...

Thanks....I also came to another conclusion...I'm playing detective gadget here...I also checked out some of the timelines like Trulo for example since he was the last CR-1 to get an interview...I checked the date when NVC received your case...so Trulo case was received 12.11 and his interview was 6mos after 06.03...also Dimples who is another CR-1 visa holder who already received an interview...her case was received by NVC on 08.03.07 and her interview was 03.18.08 which is 7mos...so we might be able to assume that once your case is received by NVC you can expect a 6-7month wait for interview because of the backlog at kingston...so Forbes, Tash, and Kishmar whose cases where received between Jan-Feb they can expect Aug-Sept...Marlita your case was received in Mar. so you might have to expect Sep-Oct and my case was received in Apr so I may have to expect Oct-Nov...I'm sorry i have to put a damper on this but its better to get a realistic idea than to keep hoping every month that we are going to get a date...

I hope thats not the case! Your timing at NVC is completely dependent on how fast you get docs in and a completion date. I know that Dimps and Trulo didnt have the online option. But since that is there now, people are getting done in 1 month. I would hate to have to wait another months after that. My case was done at NVC within 50 days, others took 3-4 months! I dont understand it. But I like your thinking with the case number thing from earlier...ok so my case was assigned less than 90 days from the top of this year....what do I do now to keep figuring?

The supervisor that i spoke with at NVC said it doesn't matter really when your case is complete because it goes by order...she said that if your case is not complete by the time they get to your number they will just skip you and i read somewhere that when they come back to your number the second time around and your case is still not complete they will just send what they have to the embassy and you just have to bring those missing docs to the interview...so even though us newcomers completed our case within 1-2mos...they still are going to go by case number order...so trulo case was received in Dec 2007 so hopefully they included some Jan and Feb 2008 cases in there bunch for the June interview dates too...Clarin said she had a friend whose case was completed at the end of March...Clarin if you are out there can you let us know when your friend received her case#...that will get us closer to see if this theory is actually correct about the case# order...

They are both USC's petitions

They are? Why were the cases assigned like 3-5 years ago and just now getting processed? My bad. it sounded like a situation where they were filed by LPR and had to wait for a visa number to come up. Why would their NVC time take so long?
Mike's dad filed for him and because he was over 21 and married he had to wait for a visa number to become available. His dad is a USC....lol
Kishmar's husband just became a USC and their case was upgraded....lol
You got me Marlita..was trying to trick you

Just for some clarification:
My husband file our I-130 in Sept 05 at that time he was a LPR....he got natrualize in January 08 (at which time our case was upgraded). My cas was completed on April 25, 08 (tomorrow will make 2months).
Hope you all have a better understanding on my case now.
Thanks,

Oh I know Jamaica was under British rule, its just so funny to hear when Jamaican write or speak the Queens English, cause its just so proper and completely opposite of patois I think it odd. I notice that many seem to speak that way when trying to be professional but it just makes me laugh. Idk, I just think it sounds so weird.haha

I was not aware of the fact that the DOS can tell you anyting until your case is sent to Kingston. Trulo said that his case was completed on March 7, he received interview for June 3 (he was contacted by them during the first week of May)

so i dont know what to say. I really hope to hear something from them soon. (actually today is exactly 2 months since my case was completed)

I'm right behind you Kishmar. My husbands case was completed early May, we got to NVC in March. So if the theory of when your KNG case number was assigned works I have been waiting 4 months already and am just hoping for a August date. i don't know what the #202 number is. I hear alot of Yardies talk about it, but I don't think it works til you are at Kingston. Which is after an interview date for CR1/IR1 filers. I think the #202 is good for K visas to have a stateside contact while their case is at the Embassy. Since our case is still at NVC it seems that they are the only ones who can give us info right now.

haha, yeah that stupid thing dont work. It says every day of every month is booked, but then it says "date unvailable" when they really get booked. I dont know why they have that. At least it helped me figure out that they were scheduling in August once I saw the colors start to change.

So, who the hell is actually in charge of that calendar? Because, like you said, it doesn't work. It hasn't worked in at least 2 years. WTH do they still insist on saying that is the way to schedule appointments when everyone at the embassy knows it isn't? It's so confusing to people. I am actually outraged that they would post that as a press release when the information is wrong. Does anyone ever pay any attention there???????????
Someone always ruins it for someone else, don't they?

I have a question.....If during the interview the CO ask if my husband has any family members in the states and if I know them and how close i am to them do you think that will cause a red flag???...i read a VJ member post where his fianceé was denied because he was really close to her aunt and she stated that to the CO and that the aunt was the reason on how they met and blah blah and that caused the CO to think that it was staged...this vj member is from vietnamese though...they were on a K-1 visa when she first got denied and now they got married and were denied again because the CO wanted more proof after like a year later from the K1 interview...that is basically similar to my story...my best friend is like a fourth cousin to my husband but they are really close and my best friend mom goes down every year and he lives in my best friend's grandmother's house...so when we go down that is where we stay...and backed to the other VJ member the CO wanted to see that the airline tickets where purchase by him...the times i went to JA my friends mom would put it on her Amex and i would pay her back and my mom put one on her credit card...only when i went in March i paid out of my account...thinking about this is making me go crazy...no matter how much reassurance i get something comes across my mind and just makes me get worried all over again...

...i posted the post of the vietnamese couple so you can see what he went through....the first post is when he filed for his SO for a K1 visa and the second just gives more of the background of k1 to visa and the last is when he states that they denied the CR1 visa...over 2 years and still denied...this is bananas...just because the wife said the husband knows her aunt...

Hmmm. I dont think that was the REAL issue with that couple. I think the CO knows more than they led onto to the couple. Many people know their spouse thru a family member or friend. I would say a high percentage of people knew someone related to or friends with the spouse before they decided to get involved. Thats just natural. Whether or not that person was a family member the CO thinks "arranged" the marriage...well...it doesnt matter if the marriage is arranged either, only if it was arranged for the sole purpose of getting that person a green card. If you and your husband and in a fully functioning relationship I would not worry too much. Just have your relationship proof ready for the interview. Pictures, telephone records, plane tickets...etc. In all honesty I dont remember any Yardie coming back saying that the CO even looked at that stuff. Maybe they looked a pic or 2 an asked who was in them...other than that I have never heard of the Kingston CO wanting much of this info. I could be wrong. As far as paying for your plane ticket. Well many people pay for things with cash or Western Union there so they may not ask how you got the ticket. Never heard this being asked in KNG either.
I think you'll be fine. In fact in my year an a half of being on VJ Yardie, I have only heard a couple of people being denied for ganga in their system. All others may have been missing a form or something and were just advised to bring it in then they were approved. So the odds are pretty good. I just think the anticipation to the interview is what drives us crazy.

Andre's sister lives in NY. I am very close to her. He disclosed it. No issues.
I agree with Marlita....I think there were other problems with those posters. And, besides ganga, everyone who has everything has been approved.
No worries. You don't have to go into such details. If they ask if he has a family member in the states, say yes. If they ask if you've met, say yes. ONLY answer the questions asked if you feel uncomfortable. There is no need to lie. But, there is also no need to go into great detail. Answer what is asked.
