The best and fastest way is either DHL or Fed-Ex. Do not put it into the Ja mail system. It is a nightmare. It is best to pay the money and be sure you are going to get it than stress out over it not arriving on time. It cost Mike about Ja$2000 to send me DHL envelope.

Question for those of you going the IR1 / CR1 route - Once you file the choice of agent, does the mail come to your house in your spouse's name or in your name?

My husband appointed me the agent and the mail came to me in my name...i have a question about the PC...I got the mail my husband mailed to me using the regular mail system and I noticed the PC has a place where they are suppose to sign under his picture...my husband didn't sign it....r u suppose to sign it???...

...another question...it has to: National Visa Centre, underneath that it has my husband name, passport # and where he is from, and underneath that is says "does not appear in the Criminal Records...Is this a PC or a criminal record or is it the same thing...i just want to make sure i have the right doc...

Mike did not sign his and it was not a problem. I called NVC and was told that there are no rules saying it has to be signed. I think Mike signed it at the inteview when he signed the DS-230 part II.




You have the right document. It is just say he has no criminal records. Send in the top copy to NVC.

Jgay, do you have everthing else ready to go? Make sure you write the Kingston case number on the top right hand corner of all of your documents. Relax and breatheeeeeee..........

Learn from my mistakes. On line #20 of the Ds-230 in the section for from/to for his last address, did you or him handwrite "present" and also in the work history part?

Ask any questions you have right now and I can try to answer them.

Thank you sooo much...yes,I put present for those questions....I didn't leave any questions blank...in the back of his passport pictures i put his name, case#,DOB, and they type of visa we going for (CR-1)...i put the case number on all pages on the top right hand...I have all the docs...PC, MC, BC, copy of his passport page with his info and pic...I think i'm ready...i just want this out of my hand...

Same for me using Fed-Ex and it was overnighted. I would tell your husband to go apply for the PC now if he has not already. With the 3 day service you have more than enough time to get the PC and have him send to you Shrewdie.




Hmmm, I didnt even notice that. My husbands had a signature on it but I dont recall it being his. I'll check the PC copy when I get to work. I know it was signed, but I thought it was an officials siggie or something.

YOu know that "present" thing has got alot of people I've read. Also the 2 passport photos, before it was well known to send those in. I forgot to write my husbands name on back of his photos....I wrote the stupid case number twice but not his name. I would think that if they look up the case number they will find his name....I swear...if I get an RFE for that stupid crap...I might.....




Make sure you also send in the photocopies of the BC, MC, and PC. They request those too!

BC = Birth Certificate

MC = Marriage Certificate

PC = Police Certificate

Thanks Marlita for bringing that up...you are totally right...I read over the instructions for the immigrant visa application on travel.stat.gov website...here is an excerpt:

In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents.

You need to send the originals to NVC along with a photocopy. As far as the PC second copy just have your husband hold on to it for the interview. he need only send you the original PC and you will photocopy that and send to the NVC also.

The last step of this NVC process has finally come to an end for me... ....(well if i don't get any RFE of course)...I sent it yesterday express and i checked online and it was delivered and signed by an R.Austin this morning at 10:49am...Now hopefully I can relax for a bit and in the next week or two hear a case complete... ...I told my husband he should start looking about going to a free clinic around him so he can get his vaccines up-to-date and he told me there is one like down the hill from him and he would do it before the end of this month...He's not in a hurry...he said he hates needles...(but he has a tattoo...don't really understand that...LOL)...I just feel so happy today...

I called NVC automated line this morning and got the message that my case was completed just TWO days after they logged my DS230!! How super duper fast is that?!

So now I await the interview notification.

How do I find out when I get an interview? Does the NVC line tell me or do I receive something in the mail? I still have not gotten the cheklist forms for the DS230 which has been 2 weeks since they generated them. I am SOOOO excited but nervous at the same time. I really feel Gods work in all of this and now I am thinking I could get a quick interview date too.....back to praying I go.

So where can my husband go in the Mobay area for his free vaccines?

So I checked the DHL NVC tracking and a Jamaica Embassy package was sent out on May 7th...it is currently with a courier in JA on its way to the Embassy.

are the vaccines the same for every country?
what are some of the vaccines so we can be working on this too.

Marlita, the NVC sends your case to the embassy after your interview date is assigned. You will hear a message that your case has been transferred to the US embassy in ...... on this date. It is after you hear this message that you do the DHL tracking.

I called NVC last night and inquired about the scheduling of interviews. They said that interviews are scheduled the second week of every month for the following month. Not sure how true this is. Maybe some other Yardies can give their input as to when they received notification of their interviews.

The NVC rep said that my case had not been scheduled for May. Well i figured that much....I was more wondering about June dates. So it sounds as if there are still some June dates waiting to get scheduled. So you guys who were approved in April should get these dates. CR1 visas seems to be a a different scheduling system than K1's. Alot of K1's are getting dates at the end of June while CR1 seems to be at the beginning.

Beyond that, I have nothing else to report. Still waiting for an interview date. But I am faithful that God will continue to bless us and I am already on countdown mode with only 8 more weeks til me and my love are togehter.

I just called NVC and spoke to an operator...my case is still not complete...I guess I wasn't one of the lucky ones to get a two day approval...no one is probably looking at my case ...the operator said I need to give two to four weeks before I hear a case complete....are you kidding me... ...I hope thats not the case...well i already missed out on hearing an interview date since the second week of May is done...I guess if you get one of those false RFEs its because an officer is reviewing your case before all docs were submitted and thats how some people got a quick approval...If you don't get a false RFE then its still probably sitting on the person's desk who inputted it and who decided not to forward it to an officer yet...I was truly hoping for a July interview and that doesn't seem to be the case...and i really want to see my hubby soon like in July since its approaching over 2mos since the last time I saw him...and i definitely can not afford to go three times in one year (already went in March) if our case has an interview in August or Sept. or whenever...it seems like Jamaica embassy is really backed up...can't complain too much I guess since I am approaching the end...thank God for that...(hopefully with no REAL RFEs of course when my docs do finally get reveiwed)...just felt like writing....bored at work...LOL...but its cut out time now....YEAH!!!!...

Jgay, girl your crazy! haha Well i'm sure you'll hear something on your case by early next week. the Ds230 sont usually take more than a week after they are inputted.
I know how you feel about missing your husband though. Last time I went was Feb and I don't plan on going back til we get an interview so maybe July, maybe August. So it will be 5-6 months that we haven't seen each other. ugh!

that was me. I asked if it was POSSIBLE for me to have a date in LATE June....I was shocked when they replied. To be honest, when I had the incident when we went to drop of the DS-230 I asked the lady that came out to help us and I asked here if we turned in the Ds-230 now when would a possible interview date be set. I was just joking when I said, maybe I should ask for a late June date and she said he doesn't hurt to ask. All they can say is NO. Well, it worked out fine for me, my aunt is getting married on June 21st so, I was planning to be in Jamaica then anyway...if not, my SO would be going by himself...but I think that was already selected for many, becuase I know quite a few people with that interview date.
