While applying for SSN yesterday, my wife and I discovered that the USCIS immigration officer at POE (Sea-Tac) misspelled both her first and last names. She cannot apply until it has been corrected. Does anyone else have any experience with this? wacko.gif

There had been cases like yours here in VJ. The SSA would need to do an electronic verification and that procedure will also correct the mistakes. Did they still process the application? Did they ask a copy of her passport? Give it at least 2 weeks for the result of the verification to be over. SSA will then send your wife a mail informing her that everything's cleared and that she will be assigned a number.

Good luck!
