I wont tell you NOT to apply but in my opinion, it is most likely that you will get denied for a tourist visa.

You may be able to get a tourist visa if you are exceedingly rich by Philippines standards, and can prove it.

By rich, I mean that you need to be able to prove you own a substantial business or have millions of pesos saved up and can prove it.

It isn't that the US is full of snobs who only want rich people to come visit. Its just that immigration needs some assurance that you are likely to return to the philippines and not skip out.

I have also heard that it helps if you have certain family characteristics. Lets say you have decent money in the Philippines, are a 70 year old grandmother with all your kids and grandkids in the Philippines. You are likely to return to the Philippines.

If the past is any indication on the future, then your tourist visa will more than likely be DENIED.

Exactly. And being married to a US legal permanent resident isnt exactly a good assurance that the OP is coming back. I mean... why would she come back to Philippines when she can adjust status once in the states.

Ybbie, You could try. I dont think there's any harm in trying. However, I really think that your chances of getting approved for it is very slim. Good luck though!

What everyone is trying to say is that you must prove strong ties that you will return home such as bank account, job, home or rent, etc.

Then, even if the US Embassy grants you a visitor visa there is no gaurantee you will be let in the US. You must convince the POE officer too. He/she may deny entry at the airport. Some are successful and some are not

that's why i posted my question here to get info... he just thought if its possible i can provide all the documents the embassy will be needing, what im not sure is how big the chance is. actually i already have that idea in mind that the embassy might denied it since my husband is there and they will thought i will not come back... will just scratch the idea of visiting him... thanks for the help...

You can try but I don't think it would give you more than a fair chance of an approval to be honest with you.

If you go on and apply for a tourist visa, just satisfy all the requirements and see how it goes. It all depends upon the discretion of the consular officer reviewing your application.
