Hi to everybody:

Last night I was talking to my fiancee about the possibility he could be here in Lima - Peru the day I will have the interview, but for deciding it we need to know what happens after the interview on USA embassy? If they aprove the Visa, they give inmediately the passport stamped with it? Or they say that we should leave my passport on the embassy and then they will send that to our home with the visa stamped on it? Or we have to pick it up from the embassy some days after the interview? If we have to wait for some days, how long is it?

Please, peruvian guys or girls, give me an answer.... I will appreciate it so much...

Thanks

Angela

Everything I have read says that you can pick the visa up at the DHL office 2 days later or wait for it to be mailed to you. You must leave your passport at the embassy because the embassy puts the visa in your passport. I think it is your choice of picking up the visa or having it mailed.

Hola. The Embassy will tell you the day of the interview if you got the visa. It took us 2 days to get the visa back though DHL. We had our interview on Monday and picked it up at the local DHL office on Wednesday afternoon and left for the airport that night. I would estimate 2 to 4 days to get your if everything is OK. Good Luck.

Thanks very much for your answers, guys. Then I will talk to my fiancee and see if its possible that he comes to Peru and being with me on the interview (you know, work schedule). Well first of all we need to get the NOA2 wink.gif

Ours took just at a week. We had to send back papers to the embassy after the interview.

Good luck!

Angela,
Just so you know. Everything I have read here on VJ says that it is not required for your fiance to be with you during the interview, but it seems like your chances of getting the visa are much better if your fiance is with you.

We just got our visa approved on April 1 and had visa in hand on April 3rd.....we picked it up at dhl....We left on April 4th for POE in Miami....there are no guarantees but if you pick up at dhl it takes about 2 days.....Good Luck

It is not required that your Fiance comes to the interview.

It is highly suggested that he comes to the interview if he can.

While I see the reason for the recommendation I just wanted to say that I was unable to attend my fiance's interview with him and everything worked out okay. I know it wold have been easier on him if I had been present.

best of luck!

Sam
