Our lawyer sent our petition to CSC, March 7th, and still nothing. Is this a regular thing? I've not seen anyone on here with a timeline short of a NOA1 or short of check cashed within a week of sending their petition in. I am confused and annoyed...... please helpsmilie.gif

I would begin to be worried... Are you confident the lawyer mailed it?

This is what I'm beginning to wonder.

The lawyer probably has the NOA1 coming to him (proably so he can at least look like he's doing something he's getting paid for wink.gif ) If the checks not been cashed yet he either, 1.) didn't send it or 2.) gave you the wrong date that he sent it out

It shouldnt take this long ..uscis likes to cash that check quick! wink.gif

I'm not trying to hear that he didn't send it out when he said he did March 7!! I'll be extremely pssed if the lawyer lied to us about that. Because if he did he's been sitting on it for a whole month now. You say they like to cash checks quick? My fiance is in the process of ringing that lawyer now as I type. This is soooooo not happening.. sorry am pretty annoyed. Thanks for your input though good.gif

Yes do call....We first sent petition in April 2007......unfortunately at the time I did not know that site.......so we did not have a clue.....well our paperwork was never received by USCIS but when my SO called them in August they told him about backlog, that file was not showing on computer, but to wait a couple more months.....In october we filed again....and still waiting headbonk.gif but at least this time we know they have the file kicking.gif

Do not do what we did.......if they don't have petition on computer .....just file again !!!!!! and unless your case is difficult .....you do not need a lawyer

All the best in your journey

I suggest you consider refiling again. I originally sent my I129F on 12/6 that was stamped received by uscis. After waiting close to 2 months without a receipt or check cashed, I was finally told that my application was rejected. When you call uscis, they will tell you to wait until 3 months because of backlog. You will have to tell them that it has already been over 3 months, then they will research your application. I think they lost my application and tell me it was rejected because I never got a rejection letter after requesting it multiple times to find out what went wrong with the application.

I finally resubmitted my application on 2/23. It was received by uscis on 2/26 and got a noa1 on 2/29. I called them two weeks ago to request the rejection letter again, and still haven't received it in the mail. I was so mad and anxious before, but I am getting over it now and look forward to the new application being processed.

Good luck on your application. With uscis, you will need it.
