Yea, mine expires July 14th. If I don't get an interview close to that date, should I email them?? Orrrr will they just automatically extend that date for me?

Mine expires in June sometime and my lawyer had my fiance sign a letter that she drafted for him advising that we would like an extension.

I really hope we hear something next week! I will definitely keep my fingers crossed for everyone waiting for interviews. I am trying to be as patient as possible but this waiting game is killing me!

They might do it automatically but I wouldn't trust them to. Definitely at least email asking them to and don't leave it up to them to take care of.

In other news, our envelope with the visa is finally showing up when I track it. It's still in Montreal (well as of yesterday at 10am), but at least now I feel secure. We'll definitely have it in time for the move. Yay!

Well, since it's the beginning of summer and I'm not yet sick of the humidity I'm kinda liking it! I went to the beach yesterday. Got burned. Oh well.

It gets this hot & sticky and more in NYC! It's really gross actually. I hate summer in the city b/c you feel dirty all the time. Fall is my favorite.

But for now, I will enjoy the excuse to have ice cream a lot.

Whoops, I'm going to change that right now! I was talking with someone else who lives in Buffalo and she suggested we use the Peace Bridge instead (just a bit further down the road). She said it's a bigger crossing, so 1. they are more likely to know how to handle the K visa and 2. it may go faster. We are going to ask for the EAD stamp and see what happens, though I certainly don't expect to get it. It'll just kinda be a bonus if we do. (haha, maybe it will even disappoint Scott if we get it b/c I think he's looking forward to 3 months off work!)

we will probably get it by monday or tuesday damn i can't wait ! the real feeling start kickin in.... and i didn't got the one about getting married in less than 2 weeks (men, that's crazy)...but so cool.

For everyone waiting for interview dates, i second rae about the fact that montreal seam to assign dates a little later in the month for the next month and they schedule for the whole next month.. still also, it's just my opinion and i might be totally wrong.

I think you're right. Monday or Tuesday. Yep, now it's real! Once it's here I can stop stressing over what-ifs, but I'm very confident that nothing will go wrong now (knock on wood!)

I went through the rainbow bridge and they knew how to handle the K-1 visa and were really good. It took a long time but we crossed on Black Friday and didn't get there until like 2 in the afternoon. I do suggest which ever one you cross at try to get there earlier so it isn't as busy.

The only reason it took so long was because the place was packed. Once they called me up there I wasn't there for 15 minutes.

I just tried calling DOS and they said their office was closed! What the heck! Now I have to wait another day to call! This totally sucks.

They are closed for a couple of hours on Wednesdays if I remember correctly. I don't know the exact hours. Try them later today.

They said they are open from 11-12 on Wednesdays! Maybe I am in the wrong time zone or something.

Yeah, even for Federal Government workers (and Union members) only being open for an hour is a bit of a stretch!
