Laura: not trying to be a downer at all, but I don't think that letter is going to show up in the mail at all. I think you will be totally fine though. You have the email with the wonderfully clear sentence ( ) stating your interview date, so at least that. I'd try to bug them to send you another one if you can, but I'm sure everything will still go fine on your interview day.

alright....reality starts to kick in !
As i didn't said earlier (somehow i managed to not finish my sentence...old age) that today is my organisation day...photocopies, check it all, go to the consulate just to see etc...


well....3pm and i did it all, all the copies are here, i saw the consulate and managed on my way (walking) from sherbrooke/jeanne mance to go around st-denis/st-catherine to find a copy center.... then made a stop to omer de serre where i found a few last books to buy and some reference of stuff (photo album) i might want to buy in US, then went on rene levesque, walked west till the chinese area where i got some chinese candies just foundable in chinese store then kept on walking up to the consulate...stopped by to read the signs from outdoor... then walked my way back to sherbrooke while stopping at a coffee alone to enjoy the city (and one of thoses new book i got ).

When i am about to leave a place, i always like to stop and listen/look/feel the city i am in before saying bybye.... i am starting my bybye process

And will keep going tomorrow afternoon where i will start re-organizing my storage... OMG... that start beeing real...

Alright.....i am ready....my plastic bag with all the stuff is ready (i just got a plastic bag from omer de serre the right size for the xray ).... i feel soooo relaxed now....

I had a bit of a freak out last night. We got back to Toronto, and Scott listened to his messages. He had one from the consulate asking him to call them, from Tuesday. No other info. I was like, omg, what if they found out they need some other piece of paper or something and we have to send it in and we aren't really approved and what if we don't get the visa in time for all the plans I made, yadda yadda yadda. Scott told me not to freak out, that it was probably nothing. Luckily, he was right. He called as soon as we woke up today and all they wanted to say was to remind him that he'll have to sign some form or something at the border, and that they mailed out the visa today. Whew! So hopefully our tracking info will show up soon. Does anyone know if those xpresspost envelopes are overnight or 2 day or what?

I call everyday and everytime they say no, my hopes start to go down and down. I knowww that I'll get a date soon but I would love to know so that I can start planning stuff like a move date and wedding date! (My family keeps bugging me cuz they need to book off work so that they can come to the wedding)

Anyways, Part of me wants to wait a little before I call again for the fear of hearing them say no interview date yet but at the same time.. I would hate to have a date given and not know.

Totally understand how you feel. Well, our interview was scheduled on the 7th of last month, so hopefully they'll start schedulilng for July any day now.

Not showing up yet. I'm hoping it'll be one of those situations where the visa just shows up even though I haven't been able to track it. They did tell us they sent it out yesterday. I just have to be patient (so hard!).

I don't really understand how they book the interviews....my eligibility date was May 5 and I have an interview set for June 27. Try to not get discouraged....think of it this way....one morning the DOS will say "yes...your scheduled for July ##.

This process is absolutely the toughest thing I've ever had to endure....I've been married 16 yrs....3 beautiful kids...and due to an illness to my father in law all of our lives were turned upside down and now we must start over again.....but it's almost over for many of us waiting....good luck to all and congrats to those who have gone before us!!

I totally feel your pain. Mind you I haven't been eligible as long as you have but I am so anxious. I hold my self back from calling everyday. I am going to call this afternoon but I just have a bad feeling that I won't have an interview. When I called DOS a couple of weeks ago they told me that they sit down one day a month (can be a different day each month) and book the interviews for the next month. So hopefully they will have those dates soon! What I don't understand is that some people get interview dates before others when they submitted their package 3 after people who don't have a date (if that made any sense!). There are still a lot of people ahead of me who don't have dates so I don't know. I don't even care when the interview is I just want to know the date!!!! AHHHHHH! (I guess this should've gone in the VENT! sorry!)

Southern Canadian and Anxiously Waiting -

I called on Monday and the lady I spoke to said everything had been received and looked good but that we were just in the stack awaiting an interview date. I'm not sure how they do it because, as you guys said, there are some folks who sent their packets in after others, yet already have their interviews. I think you can drive yourself crazy trying to figure it out!

I'm going to limit myself to calling each Monday, and pray that the interview falls during one of my trips to Canada so I don't have to buy another plane ticket and take more time off work than I already do!

I am driving myself crazy well actually my fiance is driving me crazy, everyday he is like "are you going to call? please call". I am going to limit myself to every Friday afternoon!

Hi Guys, I just called... on hold for about 10 minutes and finally a nice lady came on and said "you are still eligible, but no interview scheduled yet". Well I HOPE I'm still eligible LOL!! Sigh, the wait continues...

I must admit the people at DOS are very friendly. You would think they would get annoyed everytime we call but they don't. Do you think they keep track of how many times you call?

Looks like we have a good plan in force hopefully we will find out next week! Ok here's my concern, because they told me that they sit down once a month to book the interviews for the next month how are we going to know if they have already booked the July interviews and we just didn't get one (or I should say I didn't get one because I did put in my package 3 after you guys).

Well there is no way to be sure, but my advice is to be a little patient (and I know you all are already). But they don't sit down in just one day and schedule them all; I found out my interview on a Thursday and the next week a number of others found out theirs. Based on the trends I have personally seen, I would say that if it seems like a slew of you get interview dates, and then say it's past June 20 or so and no one else seems to be getting one, then maybe you won't. But again, take that with a grain of salt as just my opinion. I bet a number of you waiting will hear something next week.

Yea, I don't know how MTL works or how they schedule interview dates. Looks like they wait till they have a whole bunch then they start assigning dates. Who knows really!! If we find out sometime this month.. then my guess would be that it would probably be for July. That's the way it seemed for everyone who found out in May.

Everyone the process you are going through now is just part of the process. Remember how this feels because you will do it again with AOS, but at least then you are together with your significant other.

Yeah mine expired on March 29 & my interview was June 2, so don't even sweat it. If it gets to that date just send them an email asking them to extend it. They never responded to my email or my lawyers but everything worked out just fine.
