I AM MOSTLY PACKED!! Except for my computer, which I'm using now, and my, which are always the last thing I pack, I am ready. So I can chill out with some friends tonight before I leave for the next two weeks and not have to stress today. Then tomorrow it's getting up crazy early, then the long but hopefully relaxing train ride up, and then I'll be with Scott!

I kind of can't believe his interview is on Monday. Craziness! After all this waiting, after almost a year, tomorrow I am going to be with Scott, and 2 weeks later he'll live here. I really kind of can't believe it.

rae not sure if you will read this before Monday, but I don't think it can hurt to ask them for a copy of the form. I wanted a copy because I can't prove I had my vaccinations without it(and since the immigration doctor gave me my boosters he knew what I needed, and btw he did it for free the vaccination which I thought was great since I know if I had of gone to Toronto it would have cost me $175 for the shot) and I thought it would be good to have for my doctor here. Best of luck and I hope that the Consulate gives it to you, and if not I wouldn't stress about it just enjoy your visit with your soon to be husband in a wonderful city. Have a great train ride and relax so you are refreshed when Scott picks you up. And don't forget to post after your interview we will be here waiting ALL day until we hear, no pressure lol.

My train leaves NYC at 8.20 am. Ugh, early. At least I can sleep and chill all day! I really should be in bed right now but I'm night person, and as I just said, I have all day to sleep!

Rae hope you had a great train trip (and nap) and nice reunion with Scott. Don't stay up too late on Sunday night or else young lady, don't make me come up there(because if I do I will be staying in the same room, ha ha ha). Can't wait to hear all about your interview and how easy it was, and it will be they are very nice there.

The train today was hell. It left NY on time but then we stopped in Saratoga Springs b/c there was a freight train ahead of us that had broken down and we couldn't bypass it. We were there for 2 1/2 hours before they transferred us onto buses, drove us up to Plattsburgh, and then transferred us back to a train to cross over the border. I got in at 10pm instead of 7. Tired. Time to go take a relaxing bath with the boy now.

Hopefully Leafgal won't be in the bedroom....

Glad to hear you made it in once piece Rae after all that runaround. My co-worker took a train to New York a couple months ago and it was unreal how much they were delayed and all the mishaps. The highlights were...non USC's being asked the same questions so many times everyone on the train knew the answers, two women getting into a physical fight over their personal space, being rerouted & switched trains due to a wreck on the tracks at an intersection (car vs. train), and finally their train being on fire!! All incidents were separate, having nothing to do with the others. I know there were more little things, but can't remember them all.

So, tomorrow is your big day!! Are you guys doing anything fun today?

Wow, what a hassle! At least there wasn't a fire on my train! lol

We are having dinner with his dad tonight (which actually should be fun; some parents are not but his dad's side is). Not sure what's the plan for the day, so maybe a walk around downtown or something. I'm in need of some Rockaberry Key Lime Pie!

Sounds like a nice dinner will be had by all. Remember to relax and have a good time while you are there, and don't stress about the interview tomorrow (I know easy to say hard to do, but I have been there and it was easy) put your paperwork in order and you will do fine, they are all very nice there and patient so like I said don't stress to much. Will be thinking of you tomorrow and can't wait to read about your time there.

Actually we really are not stressed at all! I think we both feel this is a formality, and we have everything in order, so it's just a matter of getting it over with. So I'm looking forward to having it done!

I got approved today(well if I judge by the fact that the officer said "good luck down there in the us")!

so it went pretty smoothly except for the long wait, was there from 8h30 to 11h45

Ah well I dont care, if my employer gives me my 2 weeks for being late, it wont matter coz Ill leave anyways! Ha!

All in all it was pretty simple and every employee there was super-nice.

Sounds like we had very similar experiences, just offset by a couple hours! They asked us pretty much the same questions too, and the guy we talked to was super nice.

That's awesome!! I just called DOS and they haven't scheduled mine yet, but that's a good thing. When I saw yours was scheduled for late June, I was afraid I was going to have to find a last minute plane ticket from Alaska to Canada, plus take a bunch of time off work...I'm keeping my fingers crossed about getting an interview anywhere between July 8th and July 22nd...but I'll gladly take anything after waiting this long!!
