Isn't it such a weird feeling to know that this entire experience is finally coming to an end?

I am kinda against putting the date entered in the system on the spreadsheet because it will screw the statistics... would be cool to keep it like it was to have an element of comparison (and as we saw... it doesn't change much as of when we get our interview dates )

We both fly out in a few hours. Its so crazy for us because I sold off some of my business, I got a job offer for a better job closer to my family in WI, our offer on our favorite house was just accepted, and Mary's bridal shower is next week!

This weekend should be good and relaxing while accomplishing the visa part of the process.

Aaah, that is all so exciting! Best of luck for tomorrow, though of course you don't need it. I just hope it all goes smoothly and the wait in the waiting room isn't too long. I am sure this time tomorrow you will be feeling ecstatic and relieved from your approval.

For the stats, it's just that some people will know when then got entered in the system and some will not and at the end it might just be a mix of everything when after all...the idea is to know how long between the time we send our application and the interview date

Now i would be curious to know if it's every 13th of the month or so they plan interviews date for the upcoming month ??

Well they scheduled mine on the 7th... but yeah, seems to be dead towards the end of the month, doesn't it?

(I am still against putting the real date for the entered in the waiting list) or then if u want to keep it, perhaps just to make the calculation from the date sent (because after all this i our real waiting time) I think by putting the real date as entered in the waiting list is messing up the stats, if we would like to compare with before, and also it's not comparable with people who didn't called DOS...

Aaah, you know Melusine, I think I didn't understand what you were saying before, and now I do. I agree. The real waiting time for us is from the date sent to when we get our interview. Montreal is not consistent with the amount of time they take to make people eligible for the interview. And I know for me, I waited about 80 days, not 55.

Yep..81 days for you (76 for me), 80 for Laura, 69 CBR, jmd 49 (!) etc ...
(I admit, i kinda fastely did List spreadsheet on excel just to know our numbers (without colors and all) )

And if we count the average day from the P3 date sent (i took off the entered waiting list column), it looks like that.

well, the reason I have it the way it is...

1) once you know that Mtl has entered you in their system, they generally schedule everyone in the same period of time..

2) If someone takes a while to get entered into the system, like a month as opposed to the week average, you'll see that once they finally do add them in the system, their time doesn't really change that much... THis way, you can predict better when you'll get your appointment

I'll think about it some more regardless

hummmm... would it be too much to have both? That way we can compare. What's "accurate" as far as Montreal is concerned, and like you said, how to gauge their scheduling based on when they entered you; and then also how long we've realistically been waiting, as I think we just like to see this in numbers. Also then we might be able to watch trends in how fast/slow they are in entering people into their system.

having your packet 3 just sitting in Mtl without being entered into their system are really wasted days in my opinion and therefore shouldn't be counted... Mtl doesn't know you exist yet and so counting these days as another day Mtl hasn't scheduled you for an interview really makes no sense to me..

but I decided to add a column where it shows the number of days from the day you sent your packet 3 til the day you receive your visa in the mail..

I just honestly don't think it makes sense to start the count from the day you drop it off in the local post office because if you just dropped it off or it's still in the mail on the way to Mtl, these days aren't days that Mtl could have scheduled you for an interview. Only once Mtl enters you in their system can they actually schedule you and so I chose to start the count from this day.

Hope this makes everyone happy.

I think you are doing a great job Liz and I don't really think having it count from the day you send it in will do anything either.

I agree that I don't think it will do anything since MTL doesn't count those days but I just think it's another interesting number to look at. Maybe it's that we like to feel those days were valid to us, b/c we waited them, even though they do not count in Montreal's line for the interview date.

Hi Everyone, I am new here! I just wanted to say thank you for posting the DOS phone number. I called them today to verify Montreal received my package 3 and they did May 14 (2 days after I sent it!!!). It is in the system and now I am waiting for my interview date!

I read a thread somewhere awhile back on what people chose to wear. Some said they dressed nicely as they would for a job interview and others said they just wore what was comfortable. I'll most likely wear jeans but maybe not!

I'm sure we'll get our visas without any problems. Rather, I expect the interview to go just fine, and the only thing I really worry about is it getting lost in the mail or taking forever to come. We're going to ask if we can pick it up in person the next day but I've read that's rare and they don't usually let you.

Is your fiancee going to be with you or do you have to attend solo?
