i bought my free plane ticket that aeroplan was giving me

so i will indeed go see my sweety soon ! (I cannot tell the date since i want to keep the date a surprise

)
just costed 113$ in taxes
As for the interview, i will come back the second of june.... so if the interview is before, i will change my plane ticket for earlier or later depending (55$ fees).
The suspense now is if i will cross the border or no....
and definetly first to have my interview date !!!!!!!

That's awesome melusine! You're so lucky to get to sneak in a last minute visit like that. I hope you have a great time!!
It will help you pass this "last mile" which is almost over anyway. I'm sure you'll have no problems at the border. I haven't heard of anybody having big issues lately.

41 days and counting: no interview date yet. I've got to be honest, I'm feeling rather discouraged. I mean, I know we will have our interview date, at some point. I'm just tired of waiting. Scott and I are ready to get on with our lives, and everything is on hold, waiting for this date.

Oh well, I guess I should still be happy and thankful they're taking 2-3 months and not 5-6. It could be worse. I just feel impatient.

This is completely my own opinion, but based on what I've read here, MTL tends to say it will take longer than it really does. They were still telling our lawyer 4 months around March and they've been scheduling in 2 - 2 1/2.
Laura, at least they emailed you back. They ignore me.

Or maybe I'm just in denial b/c I will be really really upset on many levels if I have to wait till July. In my heart, I feel Scott will be here in June.

June or July??? WTF??? An entire year for a K-1 is just unreal. I realize it probably wasn't going to happen in May anymore but July is when we filed last year. I just can't believe this. I sure hope you're right Rae that they're over estimating the time. I mean geez someone just got May 20th recently, how can they have filled up an entire month or more in a week?

Thanks Laura. You have a very positive attitude.
I know that in the end it will all work out and we'll be together, but I would like to be able to plan a couple other things... I'm a bridesmaid for my friend's wedding in July and I can't buy our plane tickets until I know if we're flying from the same place or not. We also are both attendants in the wedding of 2 very good friends this fall and need to file for AOS in order to get Scott's AP as soon as possible (as that wedding is in Canada). I know these are just details and they aren't the most important things in our lives... but they are reminders that our lives are on hold until Montreal says so, and I guess that's what bugs me the most. We've been apart long enough already, damnit.
I'm sure you all know how I feel though.

I feel the same.
So I'll hold out on a little hope that there are still early June and mid-June slots to be filled, and that we all get one.
I agree, an entire year is stupid. Especially when others wait far less and there is so much inconsistency. As Rob&Jin pointed out in the other thread, "only" 5-6 months behind the first people who started getting their visas.

According to the operator at NVC, Montreal gives them X number of openings for interviews and NVC fills them, so you are probably spot on Liz.

Laura, you DO deserve it, just like we do. The only difference is we ALL deserve something more similar to your timeline lol. It's not your fault this happened this way and we are waiting longer. Don't feel any guilt about it please. When I gripe, my gripe is aimed at the process and the inconsistencies, not anyone else going through this. No way!
Rae, I have the same thing going on with plans on hold. July is when I get my next batch of vacation days and I've been hanging onto 8 for my Montreal trip. If our interview isn't until July then I've not seen Jeremy for no reason (does that make sense? lol). I could go see him NOW if I just knew!! I miss him so much and that's why this bs is getting to me. Plus my 2 kids graduating, both parents bdays both kids bdays, mother's day, father's day...all of that is in May & June for me!!
I probably sound more spazzy than I really am. It'll be ok, we'll all be together in the end with our loved ones.

Thanks Liz & Trailmix for your insight!

Agreed, Laura, no need to feel guilty, and of course we are upset with the process and not individuals with speedier timelines. Also my own process is 2 months behind schedule due to my own issues with getting P3 back in, so I'll take credit for that. But not the 5 months it took for the NOA2!

Again, could have been worse, could have taken as long as CBR's! (sorry Debbie)
CBR, this is my feeling: let's say worst case scenario is that the interview is in early July. We should still find out approximately a month in advance. So even though it would suck to not be able to use your vacation days for the interview, you could at least hopefully use them for a last minute visit in June and then see what you can do in July for the interview. But I still really think we're looking at June interviews, I really do. I mean, yes, my checklist went in a bit later than the other paperwork, but still, looking at the spreadsheet, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for there to be such a huge gap in interviews.
Then again, no one said this made any sense.

ya.. and whenever you get impatient waiting for your interview date, scroll to the bottom of the chart and look at all those folks that had to wait from anywhere from 100 to 200 days + for their say.
I myself had to wait 127 days. I'm on the spreadsheet too.

I know, that is why I said it could be worse, and I'm thankful for not having to wait 5 or 6 months. I hope I didn't come off as annoying to those of you who did have to wait that long.

Not trying to be argumentative here, just justifying my whining. You only waited a month for your noa2, we waited 7.5 months for it. Please don't take this as a jab, it's just a reminder too that we've done our fair share of waiting already (most people have their visa in less time than our noa2 took). If we end up waiting another 6-7 months for the interview we're looking at a total of something like 15 months from file date to visa which is what I've only seen on those timelines of people who get serious waivers to overcome (k-1's that is).
Now that being said, I AM very grateful that Montreal sped up, I'm just freaking out that they might have slowed back down. I will try to contain myself and be patient even longer. Rae I'm very proud of you for being so good, lol
I promise I will stop complaining...well as far as you know

And you make a good point. We didn't wait quite as long as you, but our NOA2 took almost 5 months. I think yesterday I just really needed to vent. So I'm not going to promise to stop complaining.

Aww, nobody is gonna call? I can't take calling until I hear that all of you got interview dates cuz I know i'm after you. I agree, we're just freaking about the June date. They must schedule them differently and those interviews have to be more involved. We aren't to that stage yet with all those additional forms & proof necessary.
