Just wanted to share..... I called DOS (with the advice of Laura)
and asked them if Montreal received my packet 3... (well they received it physically last month)
And they said my case was in since 2 days ago... so i pushed my luck and asked if an interview date had been set up and they said no.... so i pushed my luck a little further and asked if i call back later if they would be able to tell me if an interview date was set up

DoS is Department of State.
They can tell you if Montreal has received your package 3.

Press 1 and then 0 right away, the menu is insane.


So now my best guess would be to ask jon&mary to do so

Ooh you should have asked what timeframe interviews are being scheduled for!
Course I don't know if DoS would know that.

I kind of want to, but I kind of feel like I should wait. Our lawyer said that DoS requested that she send them a copy of our signed P3 papers, as they are trying to track them down, and I just realized last night Scott hasn't sent it to her yet. She is saying they want to see this before they will give her any more info.
I'm thinking that's probably not true, and I could go ahead and call them, but she asked me not to without letting her know first. Hmm, what to do.
Should I listen to my lawyer? Most people don't bother to....

true. I get ahead of myself with excitement when I see others getting their dates.

Yes! They told me Scott just became eligible for an interview on the 8th (same as you Melusine!). This is also good b/c that means they must have "found" our original paperwork, as the second round was not delivered until the morning of the 9th. We had faxed the checklist back last week though.
So everything is all good and on track. I feel so much better.

If you do have your interviews the same day or even a day apart you definately should meet up. 3 of us from VJ did when we had our interviews, well 2 of us had our interviews and the 3rd was picking up her visa the same day. Was really great to meet in person.

Yes I will definitely go. Montreal is not too far from NYC and I really want to be there. I don't really know what I'll do with work... I mean, it should be fine if they give us advance notice. I freelance, so I can take off whatever I want. The only problem would be if they didn't send our interview letter until the last minute kind of thing... but I think I will be on top of calling DOS so that doesn't happen!

Too bad you have to go alone, but at least soon after you'll be together, right?

My sweet is quite spoiled in his current work (like 8 weeks of vacation a year) + 3 weeks absent because of some navy work (he's in the reserve). Also he is quite loyal and don't want to leave for too long at the time.

We still wonder about if he's gonna come or not but what we really really really want is to come pick me up and fly back together (some kind of macho attitude to come pick up his prey (word ?? english ?) ! lol ! We often joke as if he gonna bring a big bone as a caveman would do....
But seriously, we both dream about the day we will be able to go "home" together and at the same time our first trip together too (i'm often jalous to see all thoses happy couples in planes)

if we have an interview around the 6th of june, i have a school gala the 11th... visa should be here the 13th or the 16th (my birthday is the 14th)... we could then perhaps move around the 17th...
But ! if the visa get lost in the mail, if we are delayed for whatever reason, or if i get a job perhaps till the end of july (would be great for $ for sure)... to come and go back alone would sucks so we prefer playing safe.
I guess we'll know a little more next week... and for the job, and for the interview date

Wow, 8 weeks of vacation is practically unheard of in the US!
I will also move my SO down here (though we'll be driving, not flying).
And I *very* much look forward to the day we both get on a plane together and go somewhere together. Hopefully it'll be to Las Vegas this July for my friend's wedding. We joke about how if our interview takes too long then we'll just get married in Vegas too that same week.
Your post reads like how I feel... with all those dates and things to do, and I just want to lock down all the planning, but I can't without the interview date! I think we might try to ask if we can pick the visa up in person the next day. I don't want to chance it getting lost in the mail or having to stress over waiting for it to arrive. And he is from MTL so we can stay with his parents and not have to pay for a hotel or anything.

many have asked to pick it up the next day and the answer is usually a NO! I do recall 1 or 2 members being able to pick it up, but they are in the minority! maybe make a up a sad excuse,lol

Maybe if I go on crutches or something they'll say yes? Or I'll tell them I had a puppy and it died... That's a pretty sad story.
