Hi Everyone:

My husband and I are deliberating on whether to get the earliest interview date available or have at least 1 month lead time to give us some flexibility with the medical appointment and document verification happening in between. I already have with me all the pertinent requirements except for the photocopy of our NOA2 and NVC letters which he will mail to me as soon as he received it.

I told him that the medical exam can be done anytime as long as its one week ahead of my interview schedule but the document verification should be paid immediately after we got our Manila Case #. Should we consider getting an interview schedule that will take place 1 month after we’ve paid the document verification fee? or do you think it's ok to get the soonest possible interview available as long as we have at least 2 weeks leeway? helpsmilie.gif

Just like everyone else in here, I don’t want to be put on AR only because of this new procedure concerning documents verification so please, any advises that you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

It up to the US embassy people to give you your schedule for interview. You cannot pick a date of your choice.

the us embassy schedules your interview. i strongly suggest to pay the verification fee as soon as you get the case number. that is what we did and i never had problem with document verification issue during my interview.

The embassy does not pick for you. The new procedure is you call the call center and pick the date. No mater how early you pay document verification USE can still mess it up.

The current available dates are more than 1 month from now. so, you may not have to worry.

Hi, one month ahead should be fine. Just make sure you call Deblros after ONE WEEK and confirm they notified the Embassy you paid.

and in the Philippines, you call the embassy call center and you get to pick the date of your interview. Its a new procedure they have started.

I paid doc verification yesterday and then called DELBROS this afternoon (I know, patience is not one of my strongest virtue whistling.gif ). Robbie (the guy who is supposedly in charged with doc. verification) said they have notified USEM of my payment and that they are still waiting for the request for verification from embassy... but come to think of it, he was mumbling a little like he was not really sure if they have indeed notified the embassy. Well, I will call again next week and then daily afterwards until they tell me they are forwarding the request for my doc verification to NSO.

Btw, the people on the other end of Immigrant visa section tel no.(02) 301 2000 ext 5184 said all further inquiries should be addressed to the call center.

I called to check if they received the amendment to the typo error on my daugther's name that I faxed earlier and she just confirmed my interview date and told me that I just need to bring the necessary documents during interview.

I was supposed to ask also if they have indeed received notification of my doc. verification payment but she brushed me off and told me that any further inquiries should be addressed to the call center, said goodbye and hanged up before i could say anything more. Maybe i was the 999th caller already or maybe she is just having PMS. unsure.gif

Some people here have advised that we also call embassy to check if they received notification of our doc. verification payments and also to check if they have forwarded request for verification to DELBROS. But doing this would be too costly if we have to call the call center everytime we feel like checking... maybe it is too discourage thousands of applicants from calling unecessarily or maybe they just want to earn more profit out of inquiries. wacko.gif
