Hello everyone!
I have been obsessively lurking and reading nearly everything written on this site for the last several weeks. You are all full of such useful information!
I figured it was time to stop being totally creepy learning about all of your lives and introduce myself.
I currently in Georgia with my fiance. We met nearly 3 years ago when I was a peace corps volunteer here and I ended up staying longer because I couldn't imagine leaving without him. We are planning to get married soon and go the DCF route here since everyone seems to recommend it.
One thing I was wondering about is if there are any problems with us only legally getting married in Georgia and planning a more ceremonial wedding for back in the states- meaning, is it a problem for the embassy as far as us showing that we didn't really do any wedding or have any celebration in Georgia. Will that look bad? Do we need to show pictures of a wedding party or something? Also, is it okay to get married and immediately apply DCF or do we need to be married for a while before we put in the application?
I also have several other USC friends here in Georgia also engaged or married to Georgians, so I may occasionally ask questions on their behalf as well.
Thanks in advance for all the great help I am sure to get!
~Gande
