i talked to some guy in USEM when i called..
and i asked him like how would i know if our stuff was already sent to USEM..
he said when u got MNL number it's already in USEM..
i suggest u ask your petitioner to call and ask for the interview sched..

Being stucked in NVC is normal since they need to do "namecheck" thing. If it so happens that there are "hits" during that process, they need to do further investigation or processing that could really cause delays. Having Manila case number is a good sign. You just gotta keep on calling them for updates and you will need patient too.

Good luck!

K visas normally pass through the NVC in 4 days. Once you have your MNL number your petition is sent to the USEM by DHL. When I looked shipments went out once or twice a week. Once the USEM receives the petitions they must be entered into the system. This normally takes 7 to 15 days. Since the USEM processes more K1 visas than any other US Embassy, your petition will be only one of many.

We got our NOA2 approval on March 28, and our papers didn't make it to the embassy until May 21. whistling.gif

They do AP at NVC so it is possible that is what is holding it up. There are some other VJ members who that has happened to. I think they were both at NVC for 6 weeks.

You can't call USEM, it is closed today dear, it's saturday and they will be closed up to monday since monday is araw ng kagitingan celebration (in lieu of april 9). having your MNL number is not a gurantee that your papers are already at USEM. NVC must confirm that they sent out your papers to USEM first so your fiance should call NVC, usually it takes just a few days for NVC to sent off K1 petitions to appropriate embassy.

I don't think your papers has been stuck with NVC for 3weeks now, it is my guess that it was stuck with CSC for a few more weeks after you got your NOA March 12. It will not get to NVC in one day. VSC could send off approved petitions a day after approval and then it reaches NVC in 2-3days BUT with CSC, they wait a few weeks before sending off approved petition to NVC, usually it is 2-3weeks to even a month from what i see in other CSC filers timeline and from what I read from CSC filers rants. They said that CSC (California SLOW Center) wait to fill out a crate with approved petition before they send it off to NVC in bulk.

But don't despair, you already have case number which means your case finally reached NVC and your fiance has already received letter from NVC that they will be forwarding your papers to USEM. It won't be long now for your papers to reach USEM. Ricky received a letter from NVC dated March 24 stating that they will be forwarding our papers within the week. When he called 2days after receiving the letter, he was told that they forwarded our papers on MARCH 24 yes.gif , the same date they sent out the letter (that was why i asked you to check the date on your fiance's NVC letter so we could have a good estimate).

Your papers is probably cruising its way to embassy or have even reached embassy already. Just ask your fiance to call NVC first to confirm the date it was sent off and from that date count at least 5-7 days before calling USEM for appointment. just enough time for DHL to deliver the package and also enough time for USEM people to encode your case into their system.

Good luck to you. Just relax, madaut ang beauty kung sobra ka-stress. You'll soon get the interview date, I'm positive you will have it next week. good.gif Btw, I might be rescheduling my interview date, i'll just PM you when we finalize it next week. I only have 3 dates in mind and I am not sure yet if it will be available. (crossing my fingers) God bless you always.

It happened to us and we didn't know why or what was happening, but after about 5 weeks it moved on to the Embassy. I was told once that sometimes NVC just randomly pulls cases aside for further checks.

CSC is really SLOW ClockWatch2.gif . Our case haven't reach NVC yet sad.gif and guess what else the NVC agent told my husband, that he should try to call again after 2 to 4 weeks because at times, they don't get the approved case until 90 DAYS! protest6wz.gif I told my husband that this is absurd and totally unacceptable ranting33va.gif

Anyways, my husband will be calling again this week (instead of next week) to check if they already received it and if we already have a case # assigned. I'll also send them an email inquiry as per dbears recommendation good.gif We are so hoping that we get our case # soon.

We were stuck in NVC for about 4 weeks. I was panicked and thought there must be something wrong cuz I saw everyone else taking only 3-4 days to get to the embassy from NVC. I called once a week to the NVC and asked if it was released yet to the embassy. Each time they said it was not released and there was nothing they could tell me. Finally, about the third call to the NVC, the operator told me not to worry and that it was just in the normal process. He said it was just taking longer than usual to complete their usual checks and not to worry. The next week I called and it had been sent to the embassy the day before my call.

I will say they same to you....don't worry. Unless you hear there is a problem, assume its just normal checks and it should be cleared up soon. Plenty of people have had their cases held up at NVC and did not have any problems. It just took a while for them to release the file to the embassy.

Hope this helps.
