Wooohooo Angela, I am late on this one but I hope that all has gone well and you are soon going to be on your way across the pond, let us know asap

I'm worried sick about my interview, and I don't know why... I've triple checked all my documents but I'm worried I'll do something stupid like leave my passport at home!!

L's visa is being delivered tomorrow morning before 10am, he's flying out tomorrow night, and we're getting married on Friday afternoon at 3:30pm!

Thank you! He just called and has gone through security at Heathrow and is now waiting to go to the gate! In a little over 8 hours from now he'll be in Boston! In a little over 50 hours from now, we'll be legally wed - finally.

Just to let you know interview - approved pending FBI name check.

First person at counter advised should be sorted out in one week plus another week to prepare the visa for delivery to me.

Then the person that interviewed me advised that it will take 2-4 hours for the results of the fingerprints to be dealt with and the visa/passport would be returned within 1 week.

This cost $85 luckly I had cash to cover it.

So I'm just waiting for some kind of news.

Congragulations ICE2005! Even though you have to wait a little longer, when you look back it will seem like nothing. I just wanted to share that we went down to the Social Security office yesterday and my fiance was already in the system (he arrived Saturday) and so they are sending him his SS card within 2 weeks.

Thanks - Great that he's in the system already!! I take it he can work in 2 weeks time then!!??!?

Yes, he can! I'm glad it was quicker than the guide said. You just need to make sure that your in their SAVE-ASVI system and not let them request the information manually because that's what takes a long time.

I'm new at this so please bear with me ....... it seems like forever since i went for my medical and i wait impatiently for the morning when the postman finally drops my Packet 4 through the letterbox. Each morning i get up hoping its there

Can anyone please tell me if London is experiencing a backlog of paperwork or are they just slow?? Just going by other ppl's timeline's i expected to have heard from the embassy by now. Its been over 2 weeks since i sent back my Packet 3 so should i start politely emailing the embassy now?? or leave it another week

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

It took 4 weeks from the date of returning my pack 3 to receive my pack 4.

There is nothing wrong with e-mailing them, they will either confirm they have your paperwork or they will advise you that they have not processed it and advise you to wait for 4-6 weeks.

We have our interview date....October 30th at 1030 am. I tried putting it on my signature that we recieved packet 4 and the date, but it wouldnt allow me...says signature is too long....gotta fix it...SORRY!!!

Munchkins, so good to see you get approved. The waiver won't take too long.
It's been so long since I've been over here. Spouse has been over and we just spent the last several weeks moving from one house to a new one and having lots of fun putting it all together.

I must have entered the date wrong so many weeks ago. His interview is on 10/31, his medical, which he passed, was on the 24th.

Its nice to see most every body moved along the process. I'm starting to forget the horrible wait times....just like child birth. The end is so wonderful you forget the horrible bits!

Arrived at the Embassy at 8.40am for a 9am appointment. Waited about 20 minutes in the queue and then got sent to security and joined the queue there. Got inside and took ticket at 9.25am. Had 1st interview at 9.55, and had just sat down after that when were were called for the 2nd interview, no more than a few minutes between one finishing and being called for the next one. On way home at 10.25am.

Whoo Hoo! We are through too! Alan arrived at the Embassy at 9:30 for a 10:30 appointment and was finished and out the door at 11:05! 3-5 days for Passport courier delivery. Then home home home.

I was surprised at how quite the Embassy was today. I have seen the visa queues, when I've been there for other matters, and they were a lot longer then.

Glad all went well for you.

We also want to say a big thank you to all on VJ. The many hints and tips and reports of others experiences meant we were well planned and had everything we needed, knew what to expect and it made the day a lot less stressful than it might have been.

Flights and shippers are all booked and we head home to Portland (OR) on the 19th

Im sorry all but I havent been on this site for a time now its so upsetting considering my circumstances - but I thought I would update here - My David and I are still not together - i had re-scheduled my interview for november 13th but he still didnt talk to me by then so I had to cancel it - Today I got an email from London embassy saying I have until September 2007 to reschedule - which I thought was a good time - as in my previous message i did say my fella was not sure and if he felt he was 100% sure then we would have to file over again which now doesnt matter - so if we ever work things out atleast we wont have to wait a whole year yet again!! thats the good news. The bad news is that I didnt speak to him for a while and then called him last wednesday 15 november - he was still confused and didnt feel like talking to me - he just needed time to work out what he wanted. That was the last time i talked to him. As I stated in my last meassage (below) I have alot of people telling me is is still coming back - and to clarify this I talked to an old friend of ours who i bumped into in chat after a long time - he told me he talked to my fella and that he is considering things - so fingers crossed that we get talking and atleast try to work out the problems if it is truely meant to be. So right now I am playing the waiting game and working on myself - I just thought the email was good news - I really thought we would have to file all over again and pay out again and wait yet another year but seems we dont:) which is good as I cant go through the whole stress again:)
