Yes everyone waiting to hear about your interview, have the USC call the DOS. You can set up a Skype account and call them for free as well. The hold time is usually 15-20 minutes, I did find that on Wednesdays if you call right at 1pm you can get through in less than five minutes, because they are closed noon to 1 on this day.

Thanks for the advice on calling the DOS, unfortunately they have given me the same information as the UK helpline - although they are a lot nicer than the UK helpline.

Yeah the UK helpline is very unhelpful and uninterested, especially annoying as it is £1.20 a min

Good. It's not just me. I couldn't believe how rude they were to both my husband and I last week!

The thing that really gets me upset is that you explain the situation they keep you on the expensive phone line forever THEN they are unsure of the answer so they tell you to e-mail the embassy anyway!!!!!!!! which would have been free instead of wasting all that money on the phone!!

...I dont know whats going on..its been like 3 weeks since we sent in Packet 3.
We have both emailed the embassy and so far just the automated response back after a few hours.
My fiance sent her first email like 10 days ago.
No packet 4 either.

Should we be concerned???? I am feeling concerned...or perhaps just anxious...

Thats correct right? How did you get your date? Packet 4? Were they fast about emailing?

I've heard people have had trouble with the phone system, besides the fact that it cost a ridiculous fortune.

Joseph I sent my pack 3 back 21st August and confirmed with Proof of Delivery from royal Mail on 22nd August.

I have e-mailed called etc several times the response I get is the same:

We have no record of having received the forms to which you refer.
However there is a delay of 6 - 8 weeks between the date the forms are
received by the Embassy and the date in which they are processed and
entered on to our system. As soon as the Immigrant Visa Unit has
received the forms and completed any additional processing on your
application you can anticipate receiving an appointment date for an
interview within 8 weeks.

** I think this is a standard response. I then replied back to the e-mail advising whether they had received my medical results - they confirmed they had.


My concern is that they had my DOB wrong on the system. when I sent the pack 3 back it requested that they change the DOB, the have done this so I know they have done something with my paperwork it's lurking there somewhere.

I advised them of this and I have yet to receive a further response.

I think we just have to sit and wait a little longer - I'm going to check again this time next week and if they still haven't got it - or claim they haven't got it I'm going to send it all again!!

I don't think you will have a problem getting though when you call just press option 2 straight away you don't need to listen to all the info before hand.

The only downfall is that they can be a little rude! AND when they don't know the answer the will tell you to e-mail anyway.

Also, unless it's been 5-6 weeks since sending back the forms they will not advise you to e-mail. It's very frustrating indeed!!

When we emailed we both just got automated responses...the whole "this is automated, dont write here if you havent been directed to, if you need to it will be answered in order it was recieved"...all that.

So...if you call the number, you dont have to go on hold for super long time?
I know we're probably over shooting this..just that everyone seems to have gotten a date already.
We didnt have any changes or anything unusual for our Packet 3, and our medical was a week ago. My fiance called and they told her that they HAD sent the medical. Ah well..we'll see I guess.

Then again..i DO see that some people who sent in their packet just a few days before us JUST got their packet 4..wich gives me hope. But hey, for those of you who dont have a P4 recieved listed....how did you find out? Was it thru email? Phone? What was the turn around?

Yep if you call the expensive number and as soon as the message states press 2 you should get straight through - I have called several times (phone bill to prove it) and got through straight away.

We only got our P3 last Friday. My guess is yours got stuck somewhere & you'll get one very soon. I bet it's around the same time, Oct 2/3/4.
